Hello everyone,

I have been clearing out items from my childhood and have a large collection of star wars toys. I have looked into putting these into auction and tried to get rough estimates of value, but the variations in price swing quite markedly. I've found this forum and thought I would ask.
These toys were collected through my childhood in the 80's when the star wars films were first coming to terrestrial tv. I was a little obsessed and as an only child, a bit spoiled. the toys were all played with but looked after, so a lot of them have boxes and instructions, although they are admittedly not in amazing condition. The toys have been stored in boxes and lofts so have seen their fair share of dust.

I appreciate any advice you forum members can offer and understand this is your hobby rather than occupation, so come with no demands.

Many thanks for reading.. please see the pictures, hopefully they are of interest if nothing else.

Welcome and thanks for sharing. What a wonderful childhood collection! There is a fair amount of value in there. It would be worth taking some better pics of the cardbacks {love all those Tesco prices), including the backs of the cards to see which variants they are. Noticed a Boba tucked away in there- that could be worth a bit.

The Last 17 figures will be worth a bit and good to see plenty of accessories. I'm a little out of touch these days, so won't chip in with prices, but I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice from the guys.

I would think very carefully about selling and at the very least, think about whether to keep a few of your favourites. So many people sell their childhood stuff, only to regret it later.

That's a very nice collection Paul. Do you need to sell? How about scouting out the forum for a bit before you make a final decision. If you're anything like me it may inspire you to collect! You're not far off a loose complete full set. Also noting you have 12 of the more costly Last 17 already in the bag.

Cracking collection - and I spy the Action Figure Archive book there as well (the best guide for Kenner and POTF2 figures IMO)
as folks have said, there is some nice stuff there - Last 17 figures are good and nice creatures/vehicles.

If you do need or want to sell certainly a few bits I would be very keen on.

But have a good look around the forum and I would say really think about selling a childhood collection.

But if you do and folks are happy to give a valuation I suspect you won't have any issue offloading on the forum here.

Welcome, Paul- and thanks for sharing, you've got some enviable items from your childhood there! I'll let more experienced collectors chime in with valuations etc, but I will echo what other members have said about taking your time in regards selling them all on... when I joined this forum years ago I sold a couple of rare vintage Empire Strikes Back items right away, and I still get pangs of regret decades later, almost on a daily basis!! I hope you like what see as you navigate around the site, it's a great place for friendly expert advice and indeed inspiration in renewing an interest in collecting. Whatever you decide, enjoy- and I hope you stick around!

Martin
