Greetings one and all,

Newbie here & just popped by to say hello :D

Over the weekend, I dug out my old 70's/80's Star Wars collection out of my parents loft.

After pulling down the 3rd box of ships & figures, I forgot how much I actually owned!

After having a quick look on the tinternet last night, I think my childhood collection may actually be quite valuable!

As my knowledge of Star Wars isn't the greatest, I am looking for some advice on the collection I have!? I may even be tempted to part company with my childhood figures otherwise they will more than likely sit in my loft for the next 30years-lol

DannyBoy, you came to the right place - spread it all and take some nice clear pics that show the whole caboodle (including any weapons / small eqpt items as these can be quite valuable). We can tell you what you have and what it's worth....

Post the pics in here http://starwarsforum.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=3

Think very carefully before you part with it though...

Its the smaller (more likely to have disappeared up the hoover) that are often the real value, so please make sure you've photographed all weapons etc. to get the best/most accurate valuation.

Agree with all the advice about pics, etc. One thing I will say though that hasn't been mentioned yet is that since it's great to hear that you are excited about finding the collection, think really hard before selling it. If there is even a remote chance that finding this stuff might trigger a desire to keep collecting, then absolutely do not sell the stuff now. As collectors progress in their collecting journey, the one regret you hear over and over is that they wish they still had their childhood collection, as it has the most sentimental value to them.

You have yours still in front of you now. If you think you might come back and kick yourself for selling in a few years, think hard before selling!

This ^^^^^ is pretty much what I would say although even if you do sell I would still look to maybe keep the one figure you loved the most as you will never own your own figures again

100% agree , you probably will never get back again !

Don't sell anything to anyone without a proper appraisal on somewhere like here first. As said don't sell without taking time to consider how you might feel about this stuff down the line.
