Basically saying they're reducing the time you have to put in a claim from 45 days down to 30. Just one more baby step in the wrong direction from ebay and paypal.
• We've made further changes regarding the eBay Money Back Guarantee as summarised below (please see the eBay Money Back Guarantee policy for the full details):
• The timeline for opening an eBay Money Back Guarantee case will change from 45 days from payment date to no later than 30 days after actual (or latest estimated) delivery date. This timeline change will give all buyers, domestic and international, the same amount of time after actually receiving or expecting to receive their item, to get protection for their purchase with the eBay Money Back Guarantee.
• The timeline for buyers and sellers to appeal an eBay Money Back Guarantee case from the day it is closed will change from 45 days, to 30 days.
This is basically another way for ebay to save themselves a little more money (why else would they do it??)
I acutely wrote to paypal recently explaining the unfairness of this rule stating that its existence can only seek to screw the buyer. Why is it so short? Why not make it longer? Answer: to save them money.
Point and case: I bought a external hard drive form ebay last year. It arrived and all was well. But just 4.5 weeks after i started using it it stopped working. Just packed up. What could i do about it? **** all. And ebay and paypal coin t on this. Think about it, all the expensive things one buys tend to go wrong after a little use- computers, TVs, game systems and so on. So it's works out way better for ebay and paypal if people can't claim after 3 or 4 weeks even tho this is no reasonable amount of time to put something like that through its paces and find out if there is something wrong with it.
