Hey Guy's,

Just found this on ebay,, how can something like this be appreciated I mean lets not kid ourselves what we have here is a plain sealed cardboard box graded by the AFA..

I know what's inside is really cool but I just can not see what enjoyment this could bring, I mean baggies are great because you can see the physical toy, but this may as well just be empty because you can not see the bloody figures..

Thought's & opinions... (I think you gather I think its pointless, would it be ok to open the box and graded the figures with the box..?)

I know what you mean Skywalker...

Personally these kind of things are not my cup of tea and are out of my price range so its not a decision I have to make.

I think its more of a preservation thing, the owner knows it safe, its contents confirmed (by the not so infallible AFA), it displays better graded than it would do as a brown cardboard box on a shelf. There is an argument against opening this as for some it is a piece of history and would be akin to opening an MOC.

Its not for me but I can more than see the reasoning behind it.

Fair point Chubb, I was wondering if people thought it would be as bad as opening a Moc...

I would never open a Moc for grading or any other purpose, but if I had one of these I think I would be inclined to have it opened and graded... (Don't shoot me down over this as I will never own one because I would not want one, just hypothetically speaking) :D

I think its a slightly grey area, its a rare piece but some would see opening this as an opportunity. If opened and graded you could have a U-graded 3 pack.

I would guess most would not open it though.

Maybe a poll for the thread is in order

Way out of my price range, but even if it wasn't, not for me.

Just can't see the point, but like everything else, horses for courses.

That **** needs to be broken out. Sorry, but it's beyond ridiculous to keep it in a cardboard box in my opinion.

It would be interesting to see the general consensus, like I said I would pass the buck and sell it on and can see both sides of the argument.

We need a poll

I'm on the fence with this one. Actually what's the point just open it. You could get it x-rayed.

The most important poll since Scotland blew there chance for independence... Chubb this is for you.. :D

Good stuff, I just got back from the ballot box. :D

Thought I would just ask, the kenner box wit the 200 Luke baggies in it, was that still sealed while in a collection then opened or was it originally picked up already opened?

Yup its looks ugly but is aesthetics a reason to destroy something that could be unique in Vintage collecting?

BTW is it unique? :?
