The force lifts objects.
The weight of the object probably doesn't matter for the most experienced Jedi, as Yoda demonstrated in The Empire Strikes back.
Ergo, would a Jedi be able to use the force on an object said Jedi is holding or standing on, thus allowing him to fly? I've had this thought for ages, but I don't really care for researching for ages, so can someone else give me an answer? Thanks.

It would make for an interesting twist on the "I am your father" scene, wouldn't it?

DV: I am your father
LS: Noooooo!
*fall*
DV: *sigh* Gets them every time.
(Luke flies up behind Vader, holding his 'saber)
LS: Gotcha, you bastard!
*slice*
LS: Yay! The Empire is now in turmoil and we don't have to turn to teddy bears for help!
