Hard to price..maybe $900-1k? Maybe as high as $1200? The Blue harvest story is an interesting one and people definitely appreciate BH pieces so demand is there but Droopy isn't an amazingly interesting character so even though it's complete I don't know if people would really go crazy for it.

Out of interest is this the one that Adam Burges once owned? (May have gone to John Cormany after him) Just curious really, I can't imagine there are more than 2 complete ones out there so thought it might be one and the same.

Totally can't remember.
Although i did get it about 2010ish from RS forums.
Thanks for the valuation advice.

Edit:
Just noticed that this has the same markings as the one on SWCA
http://theswca.com/index.php?action=disp_item&item_id=59917
Black spot on left leg
Black mark around left leg hole
Black rub on right shoulder/arm

The pins pull out btw

Yeah that's definitely the same one from the archive entry. Are you selling it or just curious about value?

Interesting article. But it's left me confused as to what the purpose of these blue polyurethane figures was? If I understood correctly, these were made from the original metal molds of vintage figures but post 1986? So doesn't that make this post-production? Or is this pre-production for POTF2?

It's a very cool piece, though.

Simon - my understanding is that they were made by old Kenner employees (using the original molds) to cash in on the desire for vintage SW items - so they are not officially 'pre-production'

Yeah there have been some different views on why these were produced over the years, was it just after hours fun with a view to sell to collectors interested in stuff like that or were they somehow linked to the POTF2 line or other concepts? The general consensus is that they were produced for the collector market but who knows..

They are almost like official customs..made from the same moulds that produced the original hard copies + 2 Ups at Kenner yet made some time after the originals were. They tend to be picked up by people interested in pre-prod that can't source or fund a true hard copy or want one as a stand in for a run (say someone has a first shot and a sculpt but no hard copy..a BH piece allows them to fill the gap if the original hard copy isn't available or didn't survive).

Very interesting pieces that's for sure, I've been looking for a reasonably priced 8D8 2-Up for years now, there are about 4 out there but even though they aren't true pre-production items the owners aren't parting with them..so that says a lot about how interesting certain collectors find them.
