Blader Runner Sequel

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Don't **** with Blade Runner! Worst news I've ever heard in my entire life. It's one of my favourite films. It doesn't need a sequel, it never did and still doesn't. Why the **** do they have to dick with classic films that were great in their own right as one film. Leave it alone. Why oh why?? It's even worse than the endless remakes. Wankers.

Not sure it's the worst news I've ever heard, but it's up there

I found Dune quite interesting, though didn't understand a lot of the background to it.

The book is brilliant, if you get a chance it's well worth a read. The film is fairly true to the book, but a few bits were changed, and obviously they couldn't fit it all in.

Have any recent sequels or remakes been good?

Honestly, none that I can think of.

A few have been decent enough, but pale imitations of the originals. If you're going to remake something it should be with a view to improving it, not just to bleed some more money out of the movie going public.

Thought so. That Total Recall remake was on the other night and on first glance it looked **** - too polished, and I bet it had no three titted prostitutes

yeah huge let down IMO & as you say WTF happened to the highlight of the 3 breasted prozzie

As for remakes that are as good as or better than the original, only ones I can think of are the new planet of the apes films which I must say rock.

Agreed, only about a 3rd of the book is covered by the film, the series of dune books are pretty much a lifes work which is also being followed up with more books from the writers son, lots of detail missing in the film & whilst on the subject of remakes, the new dune 3 part saga was atrocious.

I did always intend to read the book.

When I watched it as a kid, my brother-in-law was sat with me and he'd read the books so filled in the gaps.

Would be good to see what happens after the events in the film

Wallburg? Yeh - never got to the end of it. :?

The more recent Planet of the Apes films have been pretty good all in all. Was never a huge fan of the originals or the later remake, so was pleasantly surprised by those.

They'd count as prequels technically, wouldn't they?

They really aren't bad at all.

Give a pretty interesting account of how the 'planet of the apes' came about.

Different to another prequel storyline I heard/saw

With the original POTA, was there an official/cannon?

Dune is an absolute classic - brilliant film in every way. I love the original Planet of the Apes with the mighty Charlton Heston. Have seen the first of the brand new ones, Rise of the? I liked it, kept my attention and it's a long film. I need to watch the second one.

I just don't get Blade runner. Tried many times but..... really?

Some, like me, saw Bladerunner when they were much younger and didn't get it. The way the film flows is kind of slow, almost dreamy, and the story is quite basic with only one real mystery, that of Decker (Harrison Ford) and his possible origin as a Replicant. But Bladerunner is so visually stunning in an ugly and grimy way. In my opinion only The Shining, Alien and maybe Empire Strikes Back come close.

Yeah, with you on that one. I've read the book as well, it's a bit..........meh.

This is a classic scene though
