Bens Loose Collection

Great update Ben :) love the idea about going on a crusade to free the plastic from the acrylic :D

Well, got this via Ebay from Andy X wing. not a cheap way to do this but...

After loose droid after loose droid arriving I thought this would be the solution. I know Andy got it graded so wasn't sure of the figure limb looseness other than by looking at it so I thought I was taking a bit of a chance by busting it open. The back of the case broke really easily. The figure is snapped, but It has the tightest joints that I have seen on one of these. One leg is slightly loose, but only through about 2mm of movement, but the other limbs are stiff enough to be classed as mint on a normal figure and the head hardly moves. All in all I am happy. I figure I could have bought 10 ungraded examples described as mint but a bit loose and not ended up with one as good as this so I don't think it was a waste of money but others may disagree. Still, its a hole in the loose mint figure run that is now satisfactorily filled.

Hi Guys,

Another update for you. The project keeps moving. I have replaced a couple of figures with new ones, and picked up another couple of what I class as major variants. I have taken a group shot of all the new additions:

Im pretty happy to have found a Blue Snag. Its not a minter, but its not an absolute dog either. The Imp Dig was a bit of a random ebay purchase but I got him for £27 as the only bidder and his nose is immaculate so I thought why not. I think I got a good deal. Next up will be a couple of Yodas with their two different snakes and then the final batch of ESB figures.

Im really enjoying putting this lot together. I am going to give up on redoing the group shots until the collection is complete, then I will display and limelight these properly.

I have also decided to get a VCJ. If anyone knows of an ungraded example going for sensible money then please let me know.

Hope you enjoyed the update.

Ben that is a sweet collection of figures mate, very nice.
I totally agree with what you did to the DSD, great idea. I'm glad it paid off.
Good score on the 2 Tri Hybrids dude, the BBG is fairly common but i haven't seen many WBG Tri Hybrids.

I wasn't going to do anymore group shots for the time being, but me and the Mrs are expecting our first child in September, so I have been getting the spare room ready. Part of this process has involved putting some shelves in and, well, you know collectors and shelves. I used the Mrs camera and I don't know what I'm doing so apologise for the quality of some of the photos, but you get the general idea. Its some sort of special lens.

Hope you enjoy:

1st 12 + variants I like

My ESB loosies. I have got to 31 (Yoda). I will soon start with the next batch. I also have variants here.

Random imperial Dig. I got him off ebay on a whim and his nose is perfect.

Finally a group shot. There should be 31 + 1 here, as per what I have collected. Can you see the problem with trying to put a loose collection together you are happy with ;)

So far I'm really enjoying putting these together. I am doing it slowly but thoroughly. All have accessories and all are original. I have earmarked a few for replacement/upgrade when I finish but largely I am happy with them all. The only dilemma I have is whether to splash out on a DT Luke. Its the only fig I am not 100% sure on. One will probably end up in there sooner or later though.
