A galaxy far, far away...
Hi guys,

Just a quick note to let you guys know that I'm back and to say once again a big thank you for all your support, it really meant a lot to me!! I now have the all clear, save the last colonoscopy in November, so fingers crossed I will be fine from now on.

The end diagnosis was not too great. When I had my appendix out 3 years ago they managed to leave the stump in, that then led to adhesions in my stomach, I had a perforation of my intestinal wall and then an inflammation in my ileum. So after 3 ops and a smallone to go I am back to full fitness...

On that note, I'm know looking for more support of a different kind!

Just before I fell ill, I had entered the London Marathon 2013 and funnily enough just after I got the all clear my placement acceptance letter came through!! I now have to try and raise £2500 for the British Heart Foundation, which (excuse the pun) is a charity close to my heart. My Uncle died very young of a heart attack and my mum has had heart problems including heart attacks and angina, I myself suffer from chest pains and hope that nothing bad comes from it in the future.

So that being said I am looking for any donations of any quantity to help me reach my target, this is purely voluntary and by no means comes with any pressure.

The page is : http://www.justgiving.com/Bramwell-Brightey

It would mean a lot to me and the charity if you could donate though, so dig as deep as you can.

Many thanks people. :D

Bram

Its getting harder and harder, I think the £2500 donation I have to hit is a big factor...

I've heard of some waiting since 1997... I honestly think you need to be running for charity these days.

Great to see you back Bram........Good luck with the marathon! Would love to do London some time, Have done a few myself so if you need any tips just drop me a PM.....

Yeah I've heard that a few times. I decided to do Edinburgh instead. It's just before London therefore easy to get a place.

Good Luck Bram :D

I'm running it too, I have also got a charity spot but I will save that for my own thread...

I should have started running already but thought I would give it another week

comgrats Bram, thats no mean feat mate, good lick with your training mate it gets very tedious toward the end all that dedicated training but well worth it! will deffo sponsor you matey. As jeff said any tips drop us a line. been running a few years myself.

Welcome back Bram. I'm glad things are on the up :)
Best of luck with the sponsorship. Wow thats a massive amount to raise.
I found it hard enough raising £500 when i did mine, but then i do feel that all of my friends were threaders with a big bout of hardcore chugging in my area.

Get yourself a Garmin Forerunner or similar. It's a great training tool. :)

Good to hear you got the all clear eventually.

I've often thought about doing a marathon, but being the competitve wee c*nt that I am I'd wanna do it in under 3 hours and I'd prob kill myself in the process.
