****ing PC blew up when I turned it on Monday, wouldn't be that much of a big deal if I didn't use it for work every single day so I had to buy a new one which only came today (windows 8 isn't all that bad after all!)

Might see me selling some bits on RS, nothing to worry about just got this son of a bitch PC to pay for. Only letting things go I might be able to replace one day, keeping the rest so I am not going anywhere for the moment! :lol:

My mac died a few weeks ago. Had to fork out £1100 for a new one. Still feeling the sting from that one.

Nightmare Pete! The power source on mine went a while back and I changed it over but I don't think the one I got was powerful enough to handle everything I use the PC for, played a bit of CS GO on Sunday and all was fine, woke up Monday turned it on and a huge spark flew out of it and it started smoking, after 30 mins of trying I managed to get it to power on and the startup repair screen was FUBAR and then it died and never turned on since lol, think the surge ****ed the motherboard. Hopefully I can salvage my hard drives at some point but for now just decided to start over.

Hope yours lasts you a bit longer Liam, mine was 5 years old and I used it every single day (and sent it from Romania to England where it took a battering) so it lasted a long time at least!

can believe you had the same problems twice joe lol,maybe there was something wrong with your mboard, if a psu blows there is no way it would have come back on, maybe pushing an old mboard to the limit eh?

you should have dropped me a line we have spare cad machines that would have done you until you saved up, we sell them for peanuts too!

Possibly why there's a FS thread. Mumbo told me those pills are pricey.
