I haven't been posting as much for the last two weeks because I have been busy on my Wii U...

Just wondering if anyone else on here has one or is considering getting one?

Just posted this thread from my gamepad, lovin' it... :D

Gonna give the wii u a miss. Son has a pS3 which has killed off the wii and 3DS which has hardly been used. Think that'll keep him going until ps4 hits. He's 10 soon so is at the age where he's becoming serious in his games

My Wii U has killed off my PS3

I know what you mean, especially with your lad getting older. But the Wii is a step back towards the 'hardcore' gamer, and the next-gen Sony and Microsoft offerings will prob' weigh in at over £400 (but will be far superior to Wii U in capability).

If you get a chance to try one out, give it a go. I am Ninty fan through and through, but I am surprised how much I am enjoying using this one...

I really want one but will probably hold off until the homebrew scene kicks off a bit. I don't want to sound like a cheapskate, but I just don't play computer games enough any more to justify paying £40+ per game. I only play them for a couple of hours each. I have my current Wii modded and have an external HD with about 200 games on it.

Sounds sensible, the Smash Bros hack works on the Wii platform that runs on the Wii U, no real Wii U hack yet though.

I didn't bother with homebrew on the Wii, again I don't play it enough but that sent me in the other direction, I only bought a few games.

I run emulators on my PC, is that what you run on your Wii? Now mine is redundant it would be great for hacking and getting a good library of games going. How easy is it to set up etc and do some of the 'old skool' emulators run ok or is it just pirate Wii games?
