Never been that into Lego, not in a collecting sense but i'm loving the Lego Series mini figures. I bought a series 10 box cos it was cheap and now i'm kind of addicted to them. :?

Hey
Yes, well, my daughter and I collect them together and they all 'belong' to her so far we have every single one from all the series', except the Mr Gold chase figure, maybe one day when I win the lottery I will grab one of Evilbay.

Have you seen the upcoming Simpsons series due out next month? They look great.

There are rumours that now lego have released a few waves dedicate to films and licensed stuff we may see more like that, lots of fan boy wish list stuff I think but how great would a SW themed series be or a superheroes one :)

Yeah, they [Simpsons figs] look awesome. Lego's really coming on leaps and bounds. I was never keen on their Star Wars stuff. Mainly cos i have Star Wars stuff and it's way better but these new minifigs are great and very addictive.

I must say tho i think The Lego Movie series has been the weakest for quite a while. Series 9, 10 and 11 were so strong but i struggle to pick a figure i really like from The Lego Movie series. Very so so all round for me.
Maybe i need to see the movie to "get" some of them.

There is an ebay item at moment with a complete set (allegedly) from 2009 - 2014 at £5499!! Almost tempted!!

Lego has come on massively in recent years totally re-inventing itself.

I did have one of the early series of mini-figs but sold them and bought some Star Wars Lego. I'm not into the ships, I like the scene sets better, which there are not many of.

Looking forward to the new Cantina to be released in the summer

Yeah, watch the movie, it is awesome (as it's song says). But seriously the film is great and it puts the figures in a whole new light. The other part of collecting the mini figs are the extras you end up with. My daughter spends hours switching them all about and creating all new figures so the more variety the better.

I think after the Simpsons they are back to the standard CMF's with a fresh wave due around the end of the summer.

I would advocate you take a good look at the SW Lego sets, maybe avoid the mass produced stuff and focus on their collectors sets. The current Red 5 x-wing, the super star destroyer, the upcoming sand crawler and the rumoured upcoming slave 1. Hell, there is even talk of Disney pushing for a re-release of the 5000 pieces falcon that came out in 2007. Also the current R2 droid build. And if you step away from SW some of The Lord of the Rings sets are great, The Tower of Othanac is something else. Sorry I do love my Lego... I already have a slot booked on the 28th to run out the office to the Stratford store to buy the sand crawler on day of release :)

As for £5499 for a full set of figures :) wishful thinking. A few of the early series figures do go for £20-£30, the series 1 zombie and clown are silly money, but most settle around the £5-£8 mark. There are a few exceptions when Lego decided to only include 2 of certain figures in a box but overall I would say an average of £10 per figure of which there are 192 would put a full set around £2k

But do you have a full series 1 set? I was looking at them and they're quite expensive. Really went the Mexican wrestler tho as i sell mexican wrestling masks so that one is right up my street.
I have a full Lego movie set and a near full series 10 set, just missing the Medusa.
Got a full box of series 11 arriving this week and a couple of series 6 boxes. :D Think i'll just make sets of each and sell off the extras in my shop.

:) yes we have all 192 figures, I think we got into collecting them around series 3 so the series 1 and 2 figures were still reasonable enough to get and there are a few sites like swapfig.com and swap.minifiguresseries.com that are good. I also had a few spare rarer poly bags like the hulk and TC14 that I was able to swap out for a few of the more expensive ones we didn't get.

If you go for it and try to get the lot it is worth it, just lining them all up and seeing them as a full run is great and to be fair it is still probably the cheapest run of Lego sets you could pick. Look at the after market prices on the modular sets and some of the SW sets etc. the CMF are great and they will be around for a while yet so the longer you wait to jump on the more it will cost.

I have to say not many of the series 1 figs excite me much, the cheerleader is fun and the ninja. Across the other sets I have a soft spot for the vampire, skier and surfer dude, lizardman and dwarf, computer programmer, gorilla guy, ginie, fairy, Santa, actor, roman emperor, Liberian, medusa, gingerbread man, yeti, Christmas elf.

Oh... I also forgot there are the 9 Olympic CMF as well and when you add in the toy solder from the dictionary and Mr Gold that 203 figures and going strong.

I am planning on buying a box of the Simpsons ones, my daughter will want them and I think I might and then lots of great spares for creating other figures, actual t-shirts with cropped arms and new colours.

So where did that guy get 624 from when there are only 192 different figures, presume he is including all the minor variations?? Definitely getting the new Sandcrawler!!

Just searched Evilbay and the chap selling the 624 figures is not selling CMF he is selling all the SW figures released since 1999, totally different thing. I have no idea if that price is good but since it includes every figure, including the figures that came with thr UC sets and the cloud city set etc it probably isn't too bad a deal, £8-£9 a figure average seems fair, there are a lot of them after all.

A boba fett went at Aston Auctions for £100 t'other day.

Only one I have is a slave leia fig for my 'focus'...

Yeah buddy, we're talking specifically about these V
As opposed to the Star Wars mini figures, or any other line.
