Anxiety issues

Alright gents 8)

Have been suffering from anxiety apparently,for a couple of years now due to a dodgy incident in my life...

Anyone else ever had it and if so what symptoms did you have?

I am currently having major grief with my eyes but every test done has been cleared,including brain scan etc...

Also I get ectopic heartbeats whenever I go shopping,talk to people,proper weird **** as I am a very confident,easy going person...and without blowing my own trumpet a pretty tough nut to crack,this is giving me the balls ache :(

This **** freaks me out guys :lol: :lol:
 
Ex-girlfriend of mine had similar problems. She used yoga. Regulates breathing and gets you in touch with your body.

Stay away from tea, coffee and a good diet?
 
Isn't yoga a character from Star Wars? :lol:

I ain't going down that route,15 stones worth doing yoga aint a good sight!!

I have a diet fit for champions grant,don't drink tea but do have decaf coffee in the mornings...?
 
Some years ago I spent alot of time in Asia as a part of my job (200 days a year for 5 years). Had a double trip once where I stayed a total of around 8 weeks all alone in cities where noone spoke english at all.. No internet, no fb, time zone differences so hard to call anyone etc.. It was all fine until I came back home and was gonna go shopping, it made me feel dizzy, like wanting to throw up and stuff like that.. Went home, analyzed the situation and the same thing happened again and again, threw up right before I went and bought a new alternator for my Lotus.. I, like you, am a confident person, outgoing and a "tough nut" to crack, but this really got to me, stayed awake thinking about it all night long..

I tried all sorts of stuff, breathing with my stomach, stop caffeine etc, basically everything google told me to do and nothing worked, after some months I just said "**** it" and brough at plastic bag with me in my pocket whenever I left the house and thought, "Well if I throw up, I throw up" and started singing Queens Dont stop me now whenever I went to buy groceries.. It sure helped in the end, and I have to say I came out of that experience alot stronger as a person.. For me it lasted for months, not years, but in the years after I have talked to my friends about this and like mentioned, I feel a helluva lot more secure on myself as a person.

I think it all depends on the nature of the incident that is causing the anxiety.
Your confidence might not be real confidence if you get my drift, the anxiety is a self defense mechanism,
trying to protect yourself from ending up in the same situation, i.e. you don't trust yourself or the people you meet.
Some people never get rid of their anxiety, but many learn to live with it, handling it every day in every situation.

Have you tried therapy?
Speaking to a therapist, writing, painting, anything to get you in touch with the emotions underlying the issue will help,
it's just the tool you need to handle it with is difficult to find, because we are all different, and have our own way of expressing
those emotions.

IMO the anxiety is your emotions being blocked by not accepting what has happened and not actually realizing you don't need
to protect yourself from it.

I've had anxiety for many years, and it took me many years to let go of it.
Personally, I found it was me blaming myself, and not having any self-worth, except I thought I had confidence, I thought I was doing just fine,
but in reality I was lying to myself to cope, to protect myself from dealing with the wounds from the past.
The best way for me was just accepting that what happened was out of my control, and when the anxiety came, just pump yourself up(mentally)
and push through it and it went away after a while, it's all about learning a new thought process on how to handle it when it appears.
 
I have ectopics, and went into hospital with atrial fibrillation after a heavy night on the tiles lol.

like mentioned above, caffine, alcohol, lack of sleep, lots of sugar and lots of fatty food can trigger ectopic beats, this then leads to anxiety and panic attacks.

symptoms are tight chest, feeling like you need to take a deep breath/ and or feeling your going to faint.

you just have to adapt and avoid the key triggers.
 
Do you have eye twitch? This is a normal thing associated with stress. A therapist can help you work thru a past episode that still cause you undo anxiety. They may also prescribe you something that can lessen the effect.
 
I lose focus,get twitches :wink: and a general feeling of not being able to see properly...it is very weird...

I also get what can only be described as a dark cloud in my vision and head which makes me feel like I am a bit drunk, very strange ****!
 
Thats quite odd as i do get black clouds in my peripheral vision sometimes.

it definitely does sound like anxiety, but coupled with ectopics you could just be on a vicious circle of symptoms...be interesting to find out more.
