Amiga 500 reset function

Hi guys any amiga 500 collectors and experts, my reset function does not work anymore on my good old amiga. Any idea how to fix it ? and do any of you have the same problem ?

Silly question but are you pressing the right keys? Control and the two Amiga "A" keys. If it doesn't work, one of the three keys must have stopped working?

yes I press the correct keys. Any idea how to fix it or find the error ? when I am no electronic expert I have not tried to open the amiga. Should I do that ? and should I be carefull with doing it ?

I know that keyboard keys can fail on old computers, maybe open a word processor and see if the keys work individually?

I am not sure I have a word processor for my amiga 500 but I will take a look

You could just open up Shell in Tools from Workbench

Also just thought, is it an A500+? If so open it up to check if the clock battery has leaked, even if not you should remove it as they always do eventually.

no both my 500 are not amiga 500+ if I remember correct I once heard in the early 90s when I got my first amiga 500 that more games work on the 500 and less on the plus I have no idea if that is correct

Yes the original 500 had the best game compatibility back then, although WHDLoad has fixed the vast majority of them now if you have a hard disk

I only have a hard disk for both of my amiga 1200 but I have only used it once. I did open my amiga 500 yesterday, there was a little dust inside it but not much, I cleaned it and that did not fix the problem.

I never used to know about CTRL-A-A, so I always just turned it off and on using the button on the psu.
