I have been bidding on some loose Amanaman's recently and am amazed by how much these (and last 17 figures in general) have gone up in price just since I started collecting a few years ago.

I bid £30 for one, it sells for £32. I bid £34 for anther, it sells for £42!

I know ebay isn't the best place but I got my first Amanaman on there in 2006 for £22.

I've been buying some last 17 recently and some have doubled in price since I first bought them in 2005..... Mint ev9d9 in 2005 cost me £25 this time round £56. Mint imperial dignitary (no nose damage) in 2005 £14, this time round £29. It's not only the last 17 that's gone way up either....I got a mint white leia in 2005 for £14, this time she cost me £30 and I also had to pay alot more for Luke farmboy, r2d2, boba fett to name a few.

I'm not too fussed at paying top prices as long as I'm very happy with the figures :D

I did get a few really good bargains as well. Last time out I really struggled to get a Luke stormtrooper with his black blaster, I tried to buy the black blaster many times only to receive the blue/black blaster which was really really annoying!!!! So this time round I decided to buy a graded Luke stormtrooper so that way I would be sure I'd get the black blaster.

I managed to get an ukg85 Luke stormtrooper for £25 :D BARGAIN!!!!!

during my last 17 loose hunt some years ago or last 15 as it should be. the most i paid for potf figure was £32 (2007)for a mint ev9d9. I have noticed prices on fleabay rocket on last 17 figures of late. i watched an auction of a popup saber r2 last week with a luke jedi blue saber in it! and that went for nearly £50 which is crazy considering it was the incorrct weapon and the sticker was grubby. check it out http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250746198778&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

It does seem to get a little crazy, then dies down for a bit, then gets crazy again....I think the reason they have all gone up in price is because of the lack of sellers, so quality items don't come up as often. In 2005 when i first started collecting i used to click on the vintage category and there was always around 14000 items for sale in vintage.....When you look now its around 6000, sometimes 5000, so there is less quality items for sale to satisfy demand. Which leave more people fighting over less items driving up the prices.

Its a good time to sell at the moment.

I might bite the bullet and work on getting the 8 or 9 I need and revise my budget. And it's not like they'll depreciate once I've bought them.

you could probably get a beater moc for £42 if you keep your eye out for ammananan or some other mis-spelt auction lol

Yeah for me it was the last 17 prices that turned me back to the imperials, i just couldnt bring myself to fork out all that cash for them, and on ebay they were even crazier.

Here we go.....Told you it was getting crazy again!

Well...the supply of Yak faces is considerably down since Pete and Tatsie started hoarding them - Monopoly!

That is a strange one. I watch almost every one of these sell on ebay and altho the market fluctuates severely, one with this amount of yellowing should never be selling for that amount. No way you'll ever get your money back on one in that condition. A couple in really good condition just sold for under 50 and one without a weapon but in good condition sold for 48. At the moment i'd say the Yak market is slightly on the low side. About 2 months ago they were all selling over 60. At the moment i'm seeing a lot sell for around the 50-60 mark.

Just some examples of some that sold this week. All in good condition.
Whoever payed 70 for that nasty yellow one is either a new collector or there was shill bidding.
If you wanna buy a Yak now's you time to do it. The market does not get lower than this and it usually rises after a few weeks and these will start selling for 60-70. Seen this swing 4 or 5 times now. If you're looking to sell a Yak, don't. Wait a month... or sell it to me cheap.

ps- It shouldn't need saying but be very wary of this one. The seller is using some kind of stock photo and has zero feedback. Someone with no feedback who knows exactly what a rare Yak Face star wars figure is and yet does not show a full photo of the figure. Run away...
