think i might sell them, iam quite shocked as the battle wagon is mint there are a few very minor scratches on the bottom of the box but apart from that it really is mint ! i should complain

Email them and ask why it's only an 80. They should be able to give you the graders report.

It must be close to an 85 but I'd say that theres just a bit too much scuffing on the edges and corners.

Its still in top nick 8) These were always flimsy boxes and to have one like this unopened after nearly 25 years makes it worth Ã'£400 imo

Give it a go, there may be someone looking for one whos willing to pay to get an 80 rather than a 75 like BT's one. I had one once, opened and in average condition, I sold it a couple of years ago for over Ã'£150 as I recall.

The thing with BT's is that, whilst they are pretty expensive, their stuff does actually sell at those prices

thats a shocking grade for something that looks so flawless i have a afa70 there is only a bit of edgewear at the corners and a few surface scratches

some consistency on thier grading would be nice

you hear alot of "under grading" lately

i have nothing graded by AFA

dont think i ever will either

wonder how many people actually geade for them? it will certainly change the goal posts for a consistent grade if there was less graders there maybe? but then again the persons mood may even come into play etc

AFA has definetely changed their grading within the last year. They have made it much harder to get 90s on loose figures. I used to send in 300 figures at a time and I would say 30% of them would come back 90s. The last order I placed I only got 9 out of 300. My theory is that they have made it harder so people send in more figures in order to get higher grades. It didn't work with me. I will never send anything to AFA again.

Do you think they've got stricter for MOC and vehicles/playsets etc as well Todd?
How come then people seem to think BT's and CC, in particular, get preferential treatment (ie higher grades)? Is it just paranoia?

I agree I think AFA are in bed with some of these top sellers - theyre laughing all the way to the bank!

I never really did a lot of carded so I can't tell and I never graded a ship or playset either.
As for BTs and CC, I really have no idea. I do think it is weird that Tom owned AFA and some of his graded pieces seem higher than most IMO. Brian's grades always seem to be right on. All I know is that after my experiences I am done with AFA.

I think they are pretty consistent with the boxed stuff and carded figures but the loose figures are a huge money maker for them at the moment and I think they have moved the goalposts in terms of getting a 90. Thats what everyone wants so maybe a figure that would have got a 90 easily a year ago will only be an 85 now. AFA can obviously encourage more submissions this way

The trouble is some of the 85's from when they first started grading loose figs don't compare to those mint ones that deserved a 90 but got an 85 more recently. :?

Ã'£100 is a damn good price for those Bodyrigs in my opinion!
