I personally have a few graded items in my collection and I didnt buy them to sell them or to make a profit, after all some of the prices I paid means there is little chance of ever making a profit :)

but here is the scenerio

say you were totally against afa but had a 21 back boba fett that if graded would definately get an 85 and you needed some spare cash so had to sell it
Now because of principles you sell it as it is without authenticity and ungraded.... you might end up with $1200.
Now if you were to send it of to get graded which would cost around $100 in total you could then sell it for atleast $2500

so do you think that because of principles the person will lose half the money or would they end up being a hypocrit and doing excatly what they moan about other people doing ?

<<You want to sell it to me for Ã'£300>> :p

Depends on the person and how you want to go about it, if your going to sell it eventually then you want the most for it and the only way for that is to get it authenticated by AFA unfortunately.

Or sell it me

we all do it mate, no shame in doing so. everybody wants to buy cheap and sell expensively - human nature.

Obviously this post isnt about me as I like afa but more about some of those RS guys who act like they are the be all and end all and if they dont like something then no one should but couldnt be arsed to post it on RS as cant be bothered with all the crap replies that would follow, rather do it here with my mates :)

if someone is willing to pay more money for it then i see no reason why the seller shouldnt sell it for that price.

supply and demand :D

Yep, you either like AFA stuff and pay for it or you don't, theres nothing wrong with it and the good thing is that 99% of the time you get exactly what you paid for.
If people don't like it then thats cool, theres no right or wrong despite what some of that lot on Rebelscum try and argue. No need for an essay here!!!

I only judge items on my opinion of them. Quite often some of the better stuff has been graded but equally I have ungraded stuff that is as good or better. Only go on you own judgement from photos and pay only what you are willing.

AFA ratings don't tell the whole story anyway. I like more specifics in a description. I don't mind the odd paint rub or a card with some edgeware here or there but I am more picky on bubbles. Personally I think that a 75 rated bubble detracts more than a 75 rated card. Others may have different priorities.

and then there are people like me who just collect because of the memorys so dont need some yank who may grade 2 identical items different on different days telling me how good my stuff is.the value of figures means nothing to me as you can see as i hve took Ã'£25 figures of cards and turned them into Ã'£4 figures.so now when I ,MYSELF and only ME picks that figure up i think MINT 8) 8)

Quite right. It's a hobby after all. It should be enjoyable however you persue it. If stuff is worth more in the future then great but if not **** it. We're not investment bankers. (Rhyming slang not intented :D )
