Hi Everyone

First time here so apoligies if I'm not posting this in the right area.

Upon clearing out my mums house I have re-discovered my old Star Wars toys from the early 80's they have been boxed up and have spent probably the last 25 years just there.
There's a Millenium Falcon (missing radar dish) but all other bits there and having put some batteries in the sound effect still works.
A snow speeder (missing the end of a one of the lasers) but still works
A slave 1 ship all complete
Plus some figures and other little space craft.
As you can tell my days of being a big Star Wars fan ended a long time ago so any advice you guys can give would be great. I can send pics to anyone who would like more detail.
I have advertised on a few selling sites and people seem to offer £20 for the lot. I however can't help but feel that they may be sensing a quick bargin.

Many Thanks

Jon

pictures would be needed mate, if its potf2 stuff its worth less.

the guys on here will help if you can show them what you have,

Cheers

Andy

Exactly as above, see if you can post some pictures which will be of assistance. Having the weapons with the figures can in most cases help to double their worth. £20 is a bit of a mickey take.
We have guys here from all over the place, where abouts do you live? There may be someone who lives near you who'll happily offer you a better price.
We do have a valuation thread also on this forum.
You can be sure that the offers you get publicly on here will be fair.
Best of luck with selling.

Finally, has this recent discovery brought out any nostalgia in you? It would be a shame to sell up, only to regret it later :)

if its vintage stuff from 77-85 then you would be right to expect more than £20 for the lot unless of course its in a right old state.

Put some pics up and you'll get a fair valuation from trusted people who know their stuff.

You can use an imaging hosting site like photobucket or flickr and either post the link or the image url straight into a post.

Looks like Neil (jackabina) has pm'd so hopefully given you more precise details.

look forward to seeing your stuff :)

Well its definitely vintage so that's a good start.

You don't have anything that would set the world of vintage collecting alight but you probably knew that  what you do have is a nice collection of vehicles and a few figures.

It will depend on overall condition and whether each item is complete and I know you have already mentioned a couple of pieces that are missing.

Falcon - £20-£30
Snow Speeder - £10-£20
Slave 1 - £20-£30
Smaller vehicles (mini rigs) - £8-£13 for the pair
Figures as a lot - £15-£20

That's my estimation, im sure the other guys will chip in too.

What do you plan on doing, selling up or getting back into collecting?

Cheers :)

I would say, and there are others better qualified
Falcon, radar and Jedi ball missing - £20 ish
Snowspeeder - £8-12
Slave 1 - £20-25
Figures/rigs - £40-£50

£80-£100 for the lot, maybe a bit more. Interesting to see what the others think

I agree somewhat with Mumbo, however the Falcon is missing a bit more than just the Radar, so that would affect the price. I've recently seen the Emperors Royal Guard sell for close to £9, Biker Scouts too go for a few quid especially with their blasters. I think the nicest figure you have is the R2, the last photo in particular shows it to be very minty, maybe a tenner for that one. Iain (ITFCIAIN) is the main dealer here who is good with the prices (well what he can command anyway), he'll be along soon enough i'm sure.

All in all, i think you could easily double the £20 offered by others.

Hi Everyone

You have all been very helpfull so thank you very much.

I don't have any plans for getting back into it and start adding to my collection and if I don't sell it now it will only back in a box and be put away for another 20 years or so.

I would rather that someone who has a genuine interest was to have it and therefore if any of you are interested I think £100 seems a fair price.

I live in the Bristol area so PM me if your interested.

Many Thanks

Jon

Glad to see someone coming here for advice then offering forum members first refusal... it makes a nice change.

Not sure if you will get £100 out of these tight bastards  but good luck with the sale :D
