I just started collecting vintage carded/boxed SW toys again after many years (i collected from 1994 till 1999 and quit with Episode1)
I bought something from the seller mentioned above , but the seller is not really friendly and is asking me things to do that
i'm not really comfortable with.
I was negotiating on an item and agreed a price, but the payment had to be sent directly, so i'm buying outside of eBay.
I paid the seller, but now he all of a sudden says that it has to be sent as '''PAYPAL GIFT PAYMENT'''
I checked what this means , but it looks like this way i have no proof of purchase , nothing ..
My question ; is this a safe seller to buy from? I did some research and noticed he is also selling unlimited quantities of certain ToyToni's.
Thanks for your help!

Simply NO, do not buy via gift payment otherwise you are screwed should your purchased items not come through.

I personally have not purchased from this seller and would only buy gift from someone I truly know to be trustworthy.

Thing is when you negogiate a better price, the seller is understandably going to want to save as many fees as possible. I've bought from this guy with pp gift before & would again. There is always a risk associated with it but in my experience, seemed decent seller. Don't know about the TT aspect though.

PayPal gift requires and element of trust.

If you have no reason to trust someone (even if no reason to mistrust them) then you are taking a risk.

I've never dealt with this seller but to be honest although I do gift to some people saving the 4% just isn't worth it if you don't know them. What would you rather do, gift £100 and lose the lot or pay the extra £4 and know you've got some protection? And if it's only a £20 item is saving 80p really worth it?

No matter how honest the seller is your always at risk with the package getting lost or damaged in transit. At least with ebay/paypal your covered for that and it's the sellers responsibility.
It is tempting to go this way if your going to save a packet but I would either a) collect face to face, b) Pay by cheque (your still protected by ebay I think?) c) Pay with paypal 4%.

At the end of the day the fees are obligated to the seller, so why make the buyer pay it?! Surely you would work the fees into your asking price anyway? I know I do when using eBay.

Hang on, didn't this guy have a table at the last FF, second stall on the left? Is it Andy? Was manning the stall with a mate. Or have I totally got the wrong person? Either way I agree with the others, don't ever pay by gift with someone you don't know.

Think that was Andy Rylos, Rob. Believe his name on here is Andygo!

As for Actionforce...

He was selling Toytonis without a disclaimer.

Also has access to lawyers.

This is Action Force Toys. He was a member on here a couple of times but fell out with quite a few people. I have never had an issue with him and would say there should be no issues but it is down to what you are comfortable with

As suggested - if you are happy with the price then offer to pay the fees as well

Sorry to the OP if my reply was a little terse. Your post just sounded a little odd in places - a little like some of the out of the blue posts from 'new members' that have popped up in the past in support of this guy. I wouldn't put it past him to try to stir things up on here. ..

Anyway, I've bought from him in the past from eBay once, a couple of years ago. Nice figure, pricy, but no problems. A few months later I tried to buy a couple of mocs off him, but after around 40 emails and texts, he still wouldn't give me prices. It was all pretty odd and very infuriating. A complete waste of time! That, coupled with the way he treated everyone on here in the threads mentioned earlier, mean that I wouldn't buy from him again.

There is some very sensible advice in the posts above. I suggest you take it!

My experience of him is that he's ok to deal with but don't expect a pleasant customer service experience. Like everyone has said, definitely pay the fees. I got something from him before I knew better and the shipping protection was screwed up newspaper and a box that had seen better days. Nothing was damaged but that was purely luck.

If this chap has a 'business' selling collectibles then asking people to pay by gift seems a bit presumptuous. You don't know the guy and he should really add fees into prices, or make it known the final amount = sale + fees + post. Telling you afterwards seems unfair to me.

Others have said the same - I would pay gift but only usually to established people on this forum. It's a safe bet they aren't going to screw you over.

Whooaahhh... This is definitely not me !!! :)

I'm Andy G, and I'd rather hack off my own testes with a spoon than annoy anyone.... as I'm sure anyone who knows me will attest to.

Man, I knew I should have changed my name to Wampa...........
