A resealing question.....

I picked up this beauty which arrived today.....

.....and I have a couple of questions about what to do with it. Any input/thoughts would be appreciated.

You can see it's a Trilogo Fett that originally came with it but i'm not sure about resealing that figure back into the bubble. It's the best loose trilogo Fett i've seen and would sit nicely with the rest of my loose figures, so do I seal it back as it was or look out for a regular Fett to go back in there?
I have minty Taiwan COO Fett that would look well in there but I don't want to put a Taiwan figure in if it wasn't originally an option when it was made.
From a resale point of view (although it will be staying with me) I don't want to waste a perfectly good Trilogo Fett by resealing it.
Looking at recent sales, the card is obviously desirable, but would that differ depending on the figure inside? I hope you can see where i'm coming from on this, and again, any input would be appreciated.

personally id seal it back in, it would look great on display as the double stem is rarer than the normal ones.

and to buy a sealed one would be what £200+

Yes that card did come with the "dark" Fett too, so resealing one in wouldn't make it less authentic.

Personally I would sell the card/bubble on its own, I bet somebody would pay good money for them. Of course it could then end up for sale as MOC on ebay, so depends if you could live with that

The card is a keeper, as eventually i'd like all the bounty hunters carded. What i don't want to do is seal in the Trilogo and then wish I had him loose, but at the same time I like the thought of the two original items reunited.

I really am torn :x

well how about using a perspex casing that would keep the pressure on the bubble against ths cardback if you know what i mean

you would put fett in the bubble but not seal it, and slide it in a custom sized case that just allowws pressure to keep him there?

That's actually not a bad idea at all, you get the best of both worlds, with the flexibility to revert to a loose figure if you want.

Do you mean like put three pieces of plastic around where the bubble should be so that you can slide it in? If so, that's a really good idea! I may do a test with some card board later on.

I would reseal that in a heartbeat. Nice cardback and it looks like the bubble just fell off of it...no tears.

That's exactly as it is. A bit of PVA will make a good job of it.

You see two of these on Ebay, both all original, figure, card and bubble, both resealed in exactly the same condition but one has the regular Fett in it and the other, the Trilogo.
Would you pay a premium for the Trilogo version considering that most collectors consider a reseal no more than the original figures value plus a bit for a previously opened card?

The daft thing is, i'm not planning on selling it. I just want to do what is right in the long run from a future owners/collectors point of view.

Looks like most of the darker grey are Hong Kong but there was mention of a Taiwan.. Maybe bump that old topic up or ask again here to get picture proof of a Taiwan.

Naturally most people would pay more for the rarer variation of figure, I think the answer is : yes I would put a premium on a tri fett reseal if I was in the market for one, but not anything substantial, I would factor it out as a sum of all the pieces together - Tri fett = 40 quid, cardback =15 etc etc

That cardback/bubble could easliy go for around £50 alone.Fett items go for higher premiums.I just sold a ROTJ Fett DS Kenner cardback with bubble slice off for £35 so it does happen.

IMO,i would stick that Fett back in there and reseal it.That would look great on display.

Cheers Lee I am not so up on my cardback prices but what I meant was, whatever the parts are worth on their own, you add it all up and add a tiny bit more to get them all together but never go as far as a sealed example even if its resealed and all original. There is a premium for the tri fett over a dark grey fett but reseals at least for me don't quite do it, so I wouldn't go bidding silly money for it.

As an example- I was offered a Ledy 8D8 MOC reseal, it was 150 $ , I factored that in about 50 for a mint ledy figure (they usually sell for 30-50), 60 for the cardback (usually 30-60), and 40 for the convenience of having all the original pieces together (bubble as well) whereas a real MOC could run 600 bucks quite easily.

Guys, all your input is really appreciated.

Last night I checked my other loose UPK/UPD trilogo Boba Fett and the condition is way better than I thought, which made me realise I had nothing to lose resealing the one that came with the card.
It took a bit of doing. I used white PVA addhesive which dries reasonably clear, but there is the disadvantage of not fully been able to see when trying to line up the litho.
Anyway I am pleased with the results, and more annoyed that I nicked the card with my fingernail in a couple of places.
The bubble sits high on the card which made it hard lining it up on the black portion.

I'd also be very scared if I had an original sealed one of these as it's a real tight squeeze getting the figure in. The bubble must be a lot of pressure to just pop off (which is obviously what happened to this one in the first place).
