EXTREMELY RARE Unopened 1978 R2 D2 action figure made by Kenner.

French title on the front. Collectors alert!. Limited run for Canada so there are not many unopened in this condition. Packaging is near mint condition ..a small curve in the cardboard, minor fray in one corner and minor bubble bend but otherwise in great cosmetic shape. Great unique trophy for collectors. Stored in a sealed comic book rated plastic bag (no oils or harmful chemicals in the production of the plastic) and kept in complete darkness to prevent fading of the cardboard. This was a toy that was in the back of my parents closet for close to 35 years hidden away for my Christmas present from 1978. My parents moved recently and while they were packing, found it and I have cared for it carefully ever since. You won't see this every day!

Lovely figure, wrong section (unless you have a BIN price for the forum?). This needs to go on the eBay section...

Damn I did post it in the wrong forum. Thanks for the info. ☺. I don't want to be a spam seller on this forum so I'm not sure if I should repost.

I was reading all night on this figure. It looks like a 12 c board back. It has the description in English and French. The French version is spelled feneticaly, eg. artoo Dee too and there is Kenner Canada in the bottom left. Apparently they only had 5% to 10% of the production of united States , so the amount produced was much lower. To find one in this condition is exciting.

This website, kennerCanada.com and NCF.ca were very helpful and I'd like to thank them for hosting such informative sites.

12 c Cardback not board back. ..haha.
Lots to learn still. I posted this on ebay for auction not realizing how rare this is. So I'm learning as I go through the collector community and I have lots of questions.

it will sell for what it is worth on ebay, lots of people ask stupid money for items like palitoy 12bk's 4000 quid n ****, then when put on auction they don't sell for a quarter of that. auctions are a clearer way to gauge a true value imo.

It seems like a lot of excitement in a short amount of time, mire than anything I've ever posted before. I just got offered triple the money I started the bid on, to sell it right away 1 day after post. And I have been bombarded for more info and lots of pictures which I've been sending and it seems like a lot of excitement in a short amount of time. What would you do?

personally I would hold out mate, you never know if someone is offering you 2000 and the interest is there, nothings to say it wont go for lots more than that.

Totally agree, if you're being offered that on day one, I would expect it to sell for more

Yeah well I posted before I did my homework so it's up to bids now. Haha. But I have learned alot and the community is very helpful so whatever I get is way more than I expected so.....let it ride. Haha

Thanks again guys and gals.

Make sure you package it well fella. You dont want that bursting out of its bubble during transit and paying out
