    Relationships

My wife was supportive when I purchased my collection and again supportive when selling the majority of it. I am so lucky to have the support in what hobbies I have and she actively encourages me because she knows that it makes me happy.

What's the age range of vintage collectors?

I am 45 and I remember going to see Star Wars on the first Saturday afternoon showing. What I still remember to this day was the cinema being packed out and people sitting in the aisles and annoucement that it was a record attendance. I also recall the 12 back figures in Asda with Luke and Ben...

Full set of Palitoy figures for auction.

15 years ago was when I first started collecting star wars figures, where does time go, still remember getting my first Palitoy 12 back. It was R2D2, and bought it funnily enough from Jim Stevenson advert which was in the Model and Collectors Mart.

Full set of Palitoy figures for auction.

That was the exact advert that inspired me to collect the first 20 palitoy run. It was in the Models and collectors Mart. Brings back good memories, always kept looking at it and sadly even placed the completed set of mine in the same order as that picture.

    Imperial Commander run

Nice to see you still have the Imperial Commander focus, this was always my favourite card. I only sold my Palitoy 45a back last year. Out of all my collection which included the first Palitoy 20 and two Palitoy 30 backs, the moc I regret selling the most was my Palitoy 45a Imperial Commander...

Just loving this display. Nice to see non StarWars items, especially the Matchbox cars. Also loving the Helix Star Wars stationary.

Palitoy Yoda 30 BK at Vectis - 12th August

Prices are often dictated by how desperate two bidders are for obtaining the item and with focus collectors also after Palitoy items this prices unpredictable.

    Biggest 'collecting' regret.

    I meant Jawas. Stupid me.

    Biggest 'collecting' regret.

I meant Jaws not jaws. Stupid me.

    Biggest 'collecting' regret.

My biggest collecting regret was selling my set of the first 20 Palitoy moc without ever having on display. Was always scared of the cards fading and the amount of money being on display. Another regret was swapping my childhood collection which included a vinyl caped Jaws for a stupid video...

Palitoy Yoda 30 BK at Vectis - 12th August

I except the Yoda is going to go for silly money. Also selling another Chewbacca and Luke Palitoy 12 backs. Isn't that 3 of each this year that Vectis have auctioned? It really makes you wonder if there are boxes of these. When I was collecting the Palitoy first 20 I think I only saw 2...

    Flipping Pandemic

I can't believe anybody would pay near £1000 pound for a AFA 75 for a Palitoy 20 back hammerhead mind thinking someone would pay £1500 for one. I really do think that this current trend on so called flipping is slowly killing this hobby by pricing true collectors out of being able to obtain items.
