New Collectables Magazine Out Soon! "What is it worth?" (Trilogos!!)

Hi all, Firstly I would like to thank Joe for the wonderful Trilogo article and his support of this magazine. The first copies were mailed out today. There will also be an initial limited UK regional distribution of the magazine which will hopefully expand over the next few weeks (arranging...

    R2-D2 mould?

I think the person you are referring to is me :) This is the thread you are getting confused with: http://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=22963 Yes the prototype model I own is for the 1977 Bubble Bath container. The mould I have made a link to is a different piece and not owned by me.

    R2-D2 mould?

Thanks for the info. So what was the view of this forum? Is it Kenner related? Is it from 1977 etc. etc? :)

Want your collection featured in a magazine?

Hi all. I publish a magazine called Collectables which is going to be relaunched later this year. We are looking to do a feature on Star Wars. Is there anyone in this group that would like to have their collection featured? Please contact me using the PM facility or follow us on Twitter...

    Yellowing bubbles - observations

As far as I'm aware those MoC figures have been stored for many years (probably since first delivered) in manufacturer's outer boxes. Therefore they have been stored in the dark and probably in a relatively good environment when it comes to temperature etc. So all-in-all pretty good if not...

    Yellowing bubbles - observations

These photos are from the forthcoming Vectis 'shop find' auction. Quite a lot of yellows there. Not sure what this adds to the known facts but I thought it would be worth showing.

    Yellowing bubbles - observations

So how common is it for bubbles to drop off and/or crack for no apparent reason and are there any document cases of this happening after a MoC figure has been graded and slabbed by AFA?

    Factory errors

I've seen a number of factory error MoC figures - missing an accessory or two etc. - being sold on eBay. Many of these seem to sell for crazy money. Are they worth these prices and do collectors pay a premium for these factory errors?

    Yellowing bubbles - observations

Thanks to everyone for the posts. Really interesting. In my opinion the yellowing of bubbles is down to chemical reactions within the products used. Because these figures were originally made over a period of years and also made at different factories then the chemical mix for some of the...

    Upcoming Vectis auction/toy shop find

It's good to see that Vectis have reverted to the 'auction norm' of quoting 'come and purchase me' estimates.

General Madine | Trilogo.info *Major Update*

Excellent read. It is weird how things have progressed in the last 15 years when it comes to Trilogo figures. They seem to have gone from the forgotten cousins often placed in bargain bins to some of the most highly desirable pieces. I know it's an impossibility to know how many figures still...

    Yellowing bubbles - observations

Very good points 'PalitoyJunky'. Bit worried about what you said about perfect MoC figures being stored for years for them only to degrade and even self-destruct :o I know these pieces were only made as toys and not manufactured to have any longevity. However, collectors today are paying...

    Yellowing bubbles - observations

Hi all, Yellowing bubbles! Probably been talked about numerous times before so please forgive me if I'm going over well trodden ground. I've so many things to ask so I hope members don't mind if I do so via questions: 1: When was it first noticed that bubbles were turning yellow? 2: Is it...

    Old Toy Shop discovery story

The uncertainty is doing my head in - lol :) Also I'm slightly confused (doesn't take much). The original article says there was a box of 96 ROTJ figures found. Then it says that another seven similar boxes were found but titles them as Star Wars. Are we just taking it for granted that these are...

    Upcoming Vectis auction/toy shop find

Please forgive me if I have got the situation wrong but this is how I am reading it: 1. Vectis take a wonderful collection of figures from a vendor and promote them with great vigour. 2. Vectis go to great lengths to promote the rarity of the Palitoy Fett. It makes a lot of money - good for the...

    Upcoming Vectis auction/toy shop find

Auctions by their nature are a gamble. Many, many times I have seen auction houses advertise lots as being 'unique' or 'only one known' for more to turn up not long after the auction. In this particular situation I feel that Vectis have acted incorrectly to the detriment of collectors and...

    Upcoming Vectis auction/toy shop find

Sorry if my post is ambiguous but you misunderstand me. I don't have a problem with information being shared on forums etc. My point is that Vectis shouldn't have released vague and unconfirmed information. Collectors will speculate in such circumstances. I know that if I was a Palitoy collector...
