I feel that the primary reason is because George went too far in several moments. Examples: Moments of showing off (not only the CGI, but also the sets, Jango's gadgets etc.) Captain Obvious dialogue (Telling the audience what's going on) Talk of politics Anakin's yipeeing, oopsing, whining...
