    Pick 1 thing

I don't have any of my childhood figures anymore. But the first figure I ever got was Luke Skywalker: X-Wing Pilot. So, I'd choose him - or Boba Fett. Never had Boba Fett as a child, but he's my favourite Kenner STAR WARS action figure. In a perfect galaxy, I'd take both.

    Earliest Vintage SW Memories

I definitely remember seeing (and playing with) the figures before seeing the films. I didn't get to see STAR WARS until it premiered on television in 1982 (Australia). I didn't see EMPIRE until it turned up on videotape in 1984. JEDI, is the only one of the trilogy that I did get to see at the...

    Earliest Vintage SW Memories

Earliest STAR WARS memory for me, was either 1978 or 1979? I was about six or seven at the time. A friend at Junior Primary School had quite a few figures (some of them belonged to his older brother). I didn't know what they were (from what film / TV show?), but, I knew I liked them a lot. We'd...

    Do you still collect?

Agreed. Vintage Kenner SW is also getting too rich for me. I'm glad I got as much as I did. Now, it's time to move on with the sensible option: the OT Retro Coll lines from Hasbro.

    Do you still collect?

Last year, a loose, mint Luke Endor (with collector's coin) set me back $400.00 AUD. Romba and Warok weren't cheap, either.

    Do you still collect?

I'm done with vintage Kenner STAR WARS. I pretty much got everything I'd set out to get. Any upgrades, army-building needs, will be kindly supplied by the Hasbro RETRO COLLECTION lines - a much more affordable way of owning multiple (mint white) Imperial troops. I only collect the figures...

The chilling trials of a Han Solo figure....

As a child, I'd set fire to my figures. I loved watching them burn. The figures I destroyed were either damaged goods, given to me by friends, or shoplifted. The figures I purchased were spared. Wouldn't dream of doing it now - not with today's prices.

    Your favourite underrated figure?

I like Ree-Yees. A nice figure. The (unusual) gold colour made his weapon look more like a musical instrument.

    How much!

This is why I’ve (unfortunately) limited myself to collecting only the STAR WARS and EMPIRE action-figure lines. I wanted the JEDI lines, too, but the ‘Last 17’ are beyond what I’m willing to pay for. I’m not gonna start something I can’t finish. Crazy prices. And to think, I bought about 75%...

    Your favourite underrated figure?

My family owned a station wagon, and my brother also got the Tatooine carded Boba Fett (from Toy World) in 1984. He had it for about a week, before a friend managed to sucker him out of it with a figure swap (Nein Nunb & 4-LOM).

    Your favourite underrated figure?

I loved the cards ALMOST as much as the figures. I would compare the toy figure to the image on the card, to see how accurate the toy was. Most of the time it was pointless, as they were head-to-waist portraits, or airbrushed art. But, sometimes, you’d get a full image, like the X-WING PILOT...

    Your favourite underrated figure?

I wasn’t too excited about the figure when I bought him in ‘84, but now, as an adult, I’ve a new appreciation for the figure. It’s quite a detailed and accurate sculpt with a minimal paint scheme. A nice, chunky toy, too, with a decent sized rifle accessory.

    The best looking MOCs

Luke Skywalker (Tatooine and X-Wing) on the original STAR WARS card. I don't own, nor collect MOCs, but the X-Wing Pilot was my first figure as a child. Had the figure on both the STAR WARS & EMPIRE cards back in 1979/80 and 1982, respectively. Greedo, was another favourite. Always wanted the...

    Your favourite underrated figure?

Lucky the two figures were never packaged with weapons. I never opened the figures in the car. I was terrified I’d lose the weapon(s). It was a painfully long drive home from the shops as a consequence. My first action-figure was Luke Skywalker: X-Wing Pilot, on the STAR WARS card, in 1979 /...

    Your favourite underrated figure?

I like the predominantly purple colour both the Death Star Droid and Power Droid cards share. Really nice card art. Never had either as a child, and never saw them in shops for sale back in the day.

What figure completed your loose run.

The white Bespin Guard completed my loose collection for the STAR WARS and THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK lines. It was tough trying to find a loose mint / near mint example, with the gold trim paint in great condition, at a reasonable price. Regrettably, must skip the RETURN OF THE JEDI lines, as I...

    Your favourite underrated figure?

The (white) Bespin Guard is an excellent sculpt. Shame the figure is so boring to look at. Some additional paint apps would have improved it (like the one featured on the 30-back card, with the white collar and black boots).

    Your favourite underrated figure?

He was my first action-figure from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Got him from Target in 1981. Love the yellow, brown and white colours - with the little red/orange ribbed collar of his flight suit. Another beautifully detailed figure (for the time). Also, has an excellent photo of him on the card...

Dengar. Nice sculpt. Simple but interesting colours.
