Wow stunning example but what a price

All vintage is crazy now though, you could probably get a boxed DS for the same price as a carded last 17 r2d2.

    Anywhere selling vintage in Edinburgh?

Did you find anything up there? Most cities don't really cater for vintage SW these days.

Wow stunning example but what a price

I think you've got all the elements of a blockbuster film here :P I never had one as a kid and never seen one in the flesh either, but still yearned for one well into adulthood and ended up paying ££ to get one - it was well worth the expenditure 8)

Wow stunning example but what a price

Nice one. I suppose the best comparison would be the Action Force headquarters but that was pure fiction unlike the Deathstar which is out there somewhere 8)

    r2 drid factory

I must compare my palitoy and kenner sets to see if the stickers are different, since I never realised that.

    r2 drid factory

It used to be cheaper buying a beat up kenner droid factory from the states to acquire our 3 legged friend, that's what I did anyway. They're much tighter on customs these days though, so perhaps today, that's not financially viable.

Wow stunning example but what a price

Yer but that doesn't detract from the fact that the DS is a thing of beauty and perfect for reenacting loads of famous scenes. I wouldn't of let my mates near my DS if I was one of the rich boys who was fortunate enough to own one.

Vectis 30th April Sale NOW ONLINE

Oh, you'll never get a bargain at Vectis! I've just put some silly low bids in and the website tells you you've bid too low and also tells you what price you need to bid to be the highest bidder and some of the items have already exceeded the estimates and there's still a month to go! I...

Wow stunning example but what a price

I can't believe there's no love for the cardboard Death Star, it's the ultimate playset from the 1977-85 line.

Vectis 30th April Sale NOW ONLINE

I wonder why sellers are using Vectis over ebay. If a buyer is not happy can they return them like ebay allows?

I've always wondered where all the vintage SW has gone - Vectis has got it all!

Wow stunning example but what a price

I loved to display my figures more than actually play with them, so official cardboard playsets were amazing in my eyes. I never had a playset as a kid either but that picture of the DS on the back of a 20 back card would always fire my imagination. I only started collecting SW in around 1982...

Wow stunning example but what a price

Your right, location was Roma, managed to find the completed listing in ebay. He says the cellotape had dried and so he decided to don some gloves and check the contents - I think curiosity would get the better of me too! Still, alot of dosh for something which you're never likely to set...

Wow stunning example but what a price

It's far better than the boxed version I've got...think I'll have a little cry. I seem to remember that those sealed examples only sold for a fraction of the final price here too, although this looks to be a stateside auction and the yanks seem to have unlimited funds.

    Han Solo pistol 1977

I would stick it on ebay and watch it fly. A factory sealed example has to be worth £500+ My guess would be that a Palitoy badged one would be worth more than the Kenner version.

Buying in the 80's how we used to buy figures

Stating the obvious a bit, but what also helped was the fact that the films themselves were unbelievably brilliant and you just had to try and recreate as many of the scenes as possible 8) Point proven by the fact that, to this day, I never get tired of watching the first 3 films.

Buying in the 80's how we used to buy figures

Yes, when the first Jedi range came out it literally blew my mind. My interest was starting to wain with SW with distractions like Action Force and He-man but when I seen the back of the Jedi 65 card and all those exotic cloth capes I was instantly hooked again :D

Whats your opinion of this ?

Shame the stormtrooper came with a fixed head since it would be great to make my own Han stormie from a beat up Han small head and stormie. I don't fancy doing it from a beat up luke Stormie which I'd have to probably pay £30 + for.. When I read the opening comment here I immediately thought...

Little something I have been working on

Yer looks superb, a landspeeder would be cool too about 2 inches off the ground. I just wish I had a spare room which I could use as a 'hang my loosies from the ceiling'.
