    Upside down bubbles.

SPECULATION WARNING!! IF YOU DON'T WANT TO READ UNIFORMED BS DON'T READ ANY FURTHER!! I know I said I wouldn't post anymore on that thread but I can't resist (This is a different thread anyway  ) In my (uniformed) opinion the upside down Hoth Troopers in question didn't come from the...

Yeah, if I was an Uzay collector I'd go it. What I'm more interested in though is first shots of the main kenner vehicles like the sand crawler Dark Sith Lord mentioned, obviously I could never afford them but I'd be interested to know if they still existed.

There're wouldn't be solicitors involved, its actually really easy to form a company, you can do it online. But once you do you are responsible for the operation of that company and can be held to account for any wrongdoing/tax evasion etc.

It doesn't clear up the issue of the old company at all in my opinion. The idea that someone you hardly know calls you up and you agree to be a director for a company they're setting up is ridiculous. Directorship comes with all sorts of liabilities. You'd only enter into it with someone you...

Thanks, I've learnt something new there.

Different topic, but can I ask why is the second card smaller? I thought all Kenner cards were the same size?

    Upside down bubbles.

Yeah, these things were made in factories all over the world so they'll all be using different machines with their own tooling made for each machine. It perfectly reasonable to imagine that some could be put in upside down by mistake. And I've worked enough boring repetative jobs to know that...

$504 seems quite low as well for Uzay collectors who all seem to be multi millionaires

Yeah, I've read a bit about those and I think there was a podcast about finding the molds? Micro collection doesn't count though (joke!) :D

    Vehicle production pieces

Hi all, As a collector of boxed stuff I get a bit jealous of character focus peeps who can find all those lovely pre production pieces and put together a really nice, possibly historic one-off collection. I know there's box art and plenty of cromalins and unused box sheets floating around, but...

Thanks mate. :) I don't know Jason, Toni or this Aurthur bloke and yet here I am talking **** about them on the internet! I've become everything I hate!! TBH I'm just interested in the logistics. I'd love to know more about sealing and I'd love to know what 25,000 mint MOCs look like in one...

I'd just like to point out that I know **** all about anything and thinking about it I should have kept my half baked opinions to myself. I don't know enough to make any sensible contribution to this thread. It is fascinating though! For what its worth, I don't think any of this will have...

I know nothing about prices back in the 80s but nowadays I don't think it's as expensive as you think: http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/1122779927/Blister_Pack_Sealing_Machine.html Bottom end of the market obviously but $600 for the machine isn't a lot. And tooling isn't hard to get made. Its...

Yeah, I'm saying it was deliberately put on, but by someone working in a factory that didn't know what they were doing, they thought they were doing it right. Listen, I'm not saying what I've outlined is what happened, I don't know anything about anyone mentioned in this thread. I'm jus saying...

Although, thinking about it, I'm contradicting myself. Even if he'd made the upside down cards himself, he's still recognise the value of factory errors, he wouldn't sell them. Oh I don't know!!

But if you wanted to buy it, it would cost you a lot more than a regular hammerhead on ROTJ card right? Why would Authur sell the whole batch to Jason? He wouldn't. He'd trickle them out over time. I suppose you could argue that in the late eighties no one gave a toss about errors the way...

Yes I am. In a factory that does it all the time it wouldn't even be something they'd think about. Once they had the tooling made and the machine set up they could just chock them out one after another perfect every time. If if there were any dodgy looking ones, well there's thousands more...

I'd just like to chime in here to say that its not difficult or expensive to seal a blister pack. The evidence is all around you, just look in your local post office or pound shop and look at all the crap that's sold for pence in blister packs. Yes the machines are expensive but the tooling is...

I'd nominate this for thread of the year but it started in 2012. (And there's no such thing as thread of the year)
