Dont throw those tax discs away!!!!!

This guy must of read the article in the Daily Mail that said old tax discs may be valuable in the future, and those dated 30/9/14 could be worth thousands. Complete bollocks I'm sure, but I'm keeping mine just in case.

Glad Rick killed Gareth with the red handled machete, as he promised. The tainted meat bit went nowhere though.

    Best 3 Bond movies?

I hate the 1967 Casino royale, what a mess. Any film with 5 directors and you know you're in trouble. "But it beat Austin Powers to the punch by 30 years" people say. True, but at least the Powers films were clever and funny, this is a steaming pile of dogshit, not funny at all and an insult to...

    Best 3 Bond movies?

I seem to be alone in my dislike of Man with the Golden Gun, maybe I should give it another chance as I haven't watched it in ages. No mention of Thunderball or Octopussy yet, I thought Thunderball would make someone's list?

    Best 3 Bond movies?

I don't collect Bond stuff any more, but used to have several interesting items in the eighties which I'm ashamed and embarrassed to say I later threw away. A boxed Airfix Moonraker shuttle, the classic Corgi Aston Martin DB5 (no packaging and a bit battered and missing the Korean agent of...

    Best 3 Bond movies?

I'd be interested to hear what your 3 least favourite Bonds are Andy, like you I love Bond with a passion but some are weaker than the others. So, my 3 least favourite, again no order: The Man with the Golden Gun. (Hate to say it, but this bores me. Weak story, very little and weak action, the...

    Best 3 Bond movies?

Good question. My top 3, in no particular order: 1. Goldfinger (great fun, and set the template for many of the other films) 2. OHMSS (most faithful to the book, John Barry's best score. Had Connery done it would of been best in the series) 3. The Spy who loved me (best 70's bond, Moore's...

First MOC Figure - Now and Then

I got a Kenner 77 back Death Star Droid from an ad in Model and collectors mart in 1999, for £55. In retrospect I think I overpaid, they don't go for much more than that today, especially ungraded and with a bubble as yellow as the one I received.

Now this is very nice and pure.

Wow. Even with the lifting bubbles and missing POP's that is a very good price, can't believe it didn't go for a lot more.

    MOC Longevity

I'm sure my carded figures will outlive me easily, after that it's anyones guess. Stored correctly they could last longer than people think. There are books and historical documents that are hundreds of years old, granted they are very fragile but still intact so the cardbacks at least could...

    The Walking Dead Thread

I'm like Grant, never seen any GOT episodes. Several people at work keep telling me to watch it but I never have, didn't seem like my kind of show. After reading these posts I'm going to give it a go, I've got some time of work soon so I can watch them all over the course of a week. I did the...

    Moving collecting habits

I have a soft spot for the Battlestar Galactica and Black hole figures, they're pretty cheap and hold great memories for me. I'd also love to get the Palitoy release of the Mego Starsky and Hutch dolls, and the Denys fisher Muton and Cyborg.

How Much Did You Have As a Kid?

I had almost all the figures, and up until mid 1982 every ship, playset and creature. I carried on buying the figures after 1982 but not the ships and playsets, I think the snowpeeder was the last vehicle I bought. Also had all the diecasts and weapons and heaps of non Palitoy stuff. Thanks to...

If you had £1000 to spend on vintage, what would it be!

Either a Meccano 20 back Greedo or Harbert 20 back Greedo. I'd love both, but a grand wouldn't be enough.

    Airfix’s decline – Palitoy’s gain. Children’s pain.

Weebles also had that brilliant ad line that I still sing to my brother whenever I see him (he loved his Weebles) - "Weebles wobble but they don't fall down" :P

Is this a TT? If so the acid test for value.

Same with the Greedo, I also sent a message to the seller he stole the photos and description from, no response. As you say, why bother?

figures released with wrong weapons or none at all.......

The kick ass huge gun they gave Zuckuss is interesting, would of been cheaper and more accurate to give him a Dengar/Snowtrooper rifle but no, they created a new weapon unique to him and unlike anything seen in the film. But, kids love big guns and fair play Kenner for giving us something different.
