I've had some terrible AFA85 loose figures in my hands before. No better than a C6/7 some of them. So that's £3500 for a set which will be of variable quality. A mint loose set will cost you less than a third and will be much more fun to put together.

I sell very little directly through ebay now. I just use it to advertise and try and do deals privately. Pity there isn't more competition yet :?

I honestly believe that some of these guys have an ego problem which gets in the way of good customer service sometimes. Its almost a case of that guy is a nobody so he can wait. Bill McBride's attitude in that thread stinks and he's openly inviting criticism from 'trolls'. All Aussies...

I know that Tesco home insurance will allow for a collection to be insured up to a certain value (£12k ish). I recall there is a maximum value per item and that you declare the entire value, but it works out pretty reasonable.

At the Premier Collect Auction a graded one (AFA 85y) sold for $650. Are the ones you are buying definitely 1983 vintage jobs as there was a later release (maybe 2001?)?

I think that's Ebon (Wampa from RS - somebody correct me if I'm wrong). Could be a factory error, test piece or somebody just swapped the legs out. I don't think the different legs make much difference in terms of value or desireability.

Christ, if they are the real deal there is a serious amount of cash there :shock: Some of them are reseals but even they sell for big money. If anyone was serious about those it would be worth a flight out there to check them out in person, they don't show up that often.
