Anyone else having a vintage drought?

I was pretty sure I hadn't purchased anything this year but when I looked at my spreadsheet I was shocked to see it was April 2019 when I last made a purchase. I think this year hasn't helped - in addition to all that's been going on I've been dealing with extra responsibilities at work and a...

Why is Star Wars so hard to find?

I actually read this a day or so before you'd posted it :D I always find it interesting to hear someone else's perspective on things like this, though it's interesting it chooses not to go down the 'fan edit' line.

    Cinemas, time to go?

I used to enjoy a trip to the cinema, but... This does my head in and is the main reason I rarely go. People pratting about on their phones, talking instead of watching, etc... I don't recall it being as bad 20-30 years ago. We have a few artsy-type cinemas near us which don't suffer from...

    EV-9D9 arm swap

I didn't get chance to take Poncho up on his kind offer; the arm on one of the EV's snapped off when I tried to move it. It meant I could transfer it over to the other but not in the way I'd wanted.

What are you reading right now....!?

This thread. Taking my pedant's/smart-arse (delete as per your preference!) head off I''m reading a collection of M R James ghost stories. :)

Forum Vehicle of the Year 2020 - final

Two of my favourites as a kid, this is a really tough one. I had to go for the Snowspeeder in the end as it was easier to hold and fly around, the light-up guns were fantastic... and the way that landing gear comes flying out used to mesmerise me!!

It's the Daily Mail, they've never been concerned about accuracy.

    I'm a bit stuck/lost

Definitely agree with this. first thing to do is educate yourself about repro, and it sounds like you're onto that already. As a buyer on ebay you're very protected so long as you check stuff as soon as you receive it. There are mechanisms in place that will help you get your money back...

Kim Simmons Volume 2 ESB 80-82

You're right about the shipping - I've no idea what made me think it was included.

Kim Simmons Volume 2 ESB 80-82

This has now launched on kickstarter. There are some eye-watering prices but I'm a sucker for books like this. And global shipping is included in the price, so you can relax Richard

Share your childhood vintage toy repairs

I remember my Luke Bespin being softer plastic than the other figures which resulted in one of his legs breaking off. As an 8 year old the only repair I could come up with was blu-tack... which was crap!

    R2 identification

No problem :) As a kid I had the R2 with the death star plans and another kid I knew had the talking R2. It's much nicer looking than the RC version IMO, and even though I haven't seen one for about 40 years I can still remember what the talking R2 sounded like!
