    Today on Facebook...

There's a guy on fb selling a loose Anakin for £30 + postage. Someone offers him £35 all-in, so the guy counters with £40 and he'll pay for 1st class signed. And the guy says he'll buy it! That's first class signed at just under a fiver. So it's advertised at £30 and someone pays £35 for it...

    Collecting

I seem to be able to sell on things I'm not interested in - doubles, stuff bought as part of lots, etc... It's the 'completist' mentality that's my downfall. There are a couple of bands whose memorabilia/records I collect, and I find myself buying stuff that just gets put away knowing I won't...

    Collecting

I don't have any of my childhood SW, Transformers or Action Man - they were sold in the 80s. I do have most of my lego and various other bits and pieces of stuff. For example, I still have my childhood 'Lego Car Chassis' (8860) which is boxed and complete... but I just can't bring myself to sell...

    Collecting

There's a really interesting article on the BBC website today about collecting memorabilia. It's specifically about one guy's love of football and the collection he amassed over 30 years but I think it'll strike a chord for most of us on here. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-57655620...

    Euro 2021 Thread

That second half performance was gutting after the first half, it's almost like someone accidentally pressed the 'old England' button at half-time. Hoofing the ball (when we actually had it) just made it easier for the Italian defence to cope. I understand Southgate's intention with the double...

Condition now more important than character or cardback?

Condition has always been a factor when buying items which are relatively common, but cardback certainly used to be more of a deciding factor. For the most part the older the cardback the more expensive the figure. I think the 'most collectors have not clue of rarity' is true for the majority...

    Change of Forum Ownership

As someone who tries to maintain a website for an animal rescue I can completely understand why you've done this. The new layout was a shock first thing this morning but I'm already starting to like it, and I'm looking forward to the future for SWFUK and seeing this place go from...

    Euro 2021 Thread

Yeah, both those are an absolute disgrace. I really, really hope they get hold of whoever did the laser pen thing. I just don't get the booing of the anthems, it makes us look like a country of xenophobic pricks.

    Euro 2021 Thread

  I only saw a few of their matches but they were shocking. I still believe most football fans wouldn't remember that though. Do many people remember how bad the 1990 final was? Argentina got to the final having only scored 5 goals in the entire tournament. They didn't score a goal...

    Euro 2021 Thread

Probably, but it's a relief to see a management team with an understanding of game management and how to convey it to the team. Let's face it, few people remember how entertaining the winners of previous tournaments were and it's not something that's recorded on the cup along with their name :D...

    Article about grading (trading cards)

There's a really interesting article on 'Wired' about Pokemon card grading, which offers a lot of parallels with vintage SW grading. https://www.wired.co.uk/article/pokemon-card-grading?utm_source=pocket-newtab-global-en-GB It's well worth 5 minutes of your time.

PayPal and Ebay - what's going on??

Looks like I spoke too soon, as I had an email from eBay a couple of days ago. I have to update by the end of the month.

    Any Doctor Who fans?

Yep, I'm a Who fan. That's definitely not one of the BBC TARDISes so I think Stu70 is bang on with this one. Great to see though as it does look like an accurate replica of one of the types of police box... but I can't remember which.

Bradford City fire: Thirty-six years on

Today, 11th May, is the 36th anniversary of the Bradford City fire. The fire claimed 56 victims; 54 Bradford City supporters and 2 Lincoln supporters. I was 11 at the time and remember vividly seeing the coverage, then the next day hearing rumours that 2 lads from our school had died in the...
