    Forum Playset of the Year 2022 - Round 1 - Group F

Sy Snootles and the Rebo band are not a playset, so even though it’s great it didn’t get my vote. These figures belong in figure of the year I think

Action figure collectors cases - a question

A C3P0 collectors case find from a Palitoy warehouse, suggests it might of been available. According to a post on here from 2015... https://www.starwarsforum.co.uk/threads/the-undocumented-palitoy-warehouse-“my-granddads-factory”-palitoy-called-it-the-finished-goods-warehouse.27216/

    Palitoy Bubble Sealing Process

Hi there, Why did Palitoy have so many different sealing processes for bubbles? It went from the waffle seal to the lined seal on the ESB 45B, then to the slick/flat seal on ROTJ 45C. The 65A had a waffle seal again. It then returned to the slick seal on 65C onwards. What was going on at...

    Yoda & Ackbar Vintage Slideshows

No worries, they took a fair while to put together so thought I would. I don’t own the early mould Yoda now might be worth mentioning. Cheers!

    Yoda & Ackbar Vintage Slideshows

Hello there, A couple of vintage slideshows here but against the norm they are in video format. Quite old videos now, made slightly in an over the top fashion as an excuse to practice some video techniques... but hopefully the love for vintage comes across. :D Yoda...

Card images you think could have been better

Maybe Ackbar. The side profile pic they used is ok and shows the shape of his head well or maybe they thought he was a bit ugly :D who knows. This one is great, surprised they didn’t use something like it really

    Boushh Cardback Art

Same here, I hadn't really stopped to think about it until fairly recently and couldn't quite work it out. The figure itself appears to be loosely based on conceptual art for ROTJ and so it would be unusual to make the final packaging art reflect that too, but appears they probably did.

    Boushh Cardback Art

Yep, I've done a quick merge attached here. If it was airbrush (kinda working with/over the still), among other things the brief to the artist could of been to also make the image replicate the actual figure more... which would be a bit odd but nice.

    Boushh Cardback Art

Thanks mate. I didn’t know the technique was air brush. I see the modern vintage line card uses that original palace still it was worked on then (untouched but digitally enhanced). I guess it’s quite nice that it was rendered, a sign of the times.

    Boushh Cardback Art

Hi there, Just wondered if anyone might know why the card-back art for Princess Leia in Boushh Disguise appears to be an illustration / hand rendered art? I can’t find any information on this and curious... Why would kenner use an illustrator instead of a film still for this particular figure...

Deformed Bubbles Observations (65 backs and earlier)

Excessive heat very likely but at what stage I’m not so sure. They could of very easily left factories with these defects. Lights from displays maybe might explain the graded ones?! It just seems especially common across the top of the bubbles in particular. Another interesting one here...
