    ESB price advice

Well, which figures go for the lower end prices? That's what I'd be interested to know at first. I'm not looking to buy anything high end at the moment.

    Articles for beginner collectors

I want a general overview of the history of the releases, rarities and how to tell originals from reseals. I used to have a really nice magazine article which gave the basics, but that was lost a long time ago. Thanks.

    Articles for beginner collectors

Can anyone please recommend any good online articles about the basics of collecting Star Wars figures? I've tried looking, but it's a bit of a minefield out there...

    Toy and Train Fairs...?

I know what you mean! I got a nice AT-ST boxed for £7.50 at one in 1996. Sold it on Ebay a couple of years later for nearly £20! So, I guess I helped kill off toy and train fairs...

    Toy and Train Fairs...?

Probably not worth going, ODB. As others have said, Ebay has killed off the Star Wars side of it. The one I went to in Huntingdon a few weeks back had very little. What it did have was very overpriced e.g. one stall was selling a loose, weaponless AT-AT driver for £30!

What's the latest date that's known for Star Wars figures being available in a shop at their normal retail price? Late 80s?

I remember Zodiac well. I've spoke to the owner of that site before and he's very helpful.

    Toy and Train Fairs...?

Plus, before the internet, it was somewhere you could see things you'd only ever read about. I might check out the NEC thing...

    Toy and Train Fairs...?

Back in the mid 90s, I used to go along to the various toy and train fairs in the local area - mostly Norwich and Huntingdon. Then, I stopped collecting Star Wars figures and sold off what I did have - nothing special as I was only 12/13 at the time and bought bits with my pocket money...
