Some great additions

That card will make a good reseal Edd, as you say big difference in outlay  just need to sort you a bubble now, someone must have one!

Love the caps, and the Han moc mate, lovely that 8)

Those couloring books look great, not something I would normally be interested in but the double racetrack lifts them to another level, brilliant find and congrats on completing the run mate :D

I'm not going to pick anybody's stuff out over another 'cos i like it all.
Love popping back onto here from time to time and seeing toy variations but being massively into SW comics, books and literature from the very time i bought the first novel before the UK got the film i really like Seahawks' Canadian colouring books
8)
Even with their spelling mistakes

Hello All hope you are all ok don't post a lot in latest acq as I don't actually purchase much apart from the occasional boot sale find, but a few weeks ago I was talking to a chap at work about the vw beetle he was restoring , I used to restore them and beach buggies so I have quite a few parts left over, he listed a few bits which I had , lights , brake parts etc and he said how much, I said the usual any vintage sw , action man as he's in his 40's .

To my surprise he said he had a few bags of bits in the loft and I could have them . I took a chance as its part of the fun of it all and gave him the bits.

Few weeks later I was given two bin bags of vintage sw and two bags of vintage action man and 1 bionic man, rad, all filthy and played with , but a few gems see photos.
Best bits were the large jawa with gun and belt and cards with some bubbles , I have managed to reseal one so far all good fun nice pencil top and a last 17 lando no cape :D more than happy as love a good swapsy
As I was throwing the bin bags away as they were ripped a filthy glad I double checked as I found the weapons in the photo  only sw's was a rifle and blaster, how many fell out on the way to work , car park back home to me and the loft where they were stored

Here's the reseal and a R2D2 card from Zodiac Toys as I know a member on here has an interest in the price tags from this toy shop, I was surprised by the crispness of the wicket ewok card as if the bubble just fell off when it was opened

This arrived today, as you probably saw in the Vectis thread I missed out on the Palitoy 45C Luke X-Wing earlier this week (OK at that price I wasn't even in the game  ) If that's the going rate for one with a cracked and lifting bubble now, I'll just have to settle for a cardback. I might try and make a reseal if I can find a decent bubble. When taking the Vectis fees into account, this has cost me over 2 grand less than the 'almost MOC' sold for

IMG_0018.jpeg

Am glad it arrived safe and sound Edd, sure is a nice one

One thing I must say regarding the condition of the MOC LXW that sold on Vectis; firstly it IS a MOC :!: Here r the condition facts; the bubble "crack" is actually a small split at the bottom of the left bubble prong, so it's not a big jaggered crack on the main part of the bubble etc :!:
Now to the bubble lifting, the lift is actually in between the two prongs which is not uncommon for that bubble type :!: So the lift is contained between the two prongs which are fully sealed to the card and not as worrying as a lift on the main perimeter of the bubble which is a big difference :!: Lastly there was also a mistake in the description, it stated bubble denting and there is actually none :!:

Haha no worries, my comment was a bit tongue in cheek, it's clearly a MOC but just not in the best condition. I usually avoid those pronged bubbles because as you say they almost always have cracks/splits or gaps in the seal.

I'm still gobsmacked by the price though, I can count at least 5 of these that I know of in various collections which OK is not many, but I know of one/two of a kinds that have sold for less than 2k, and a ROTJ Luke X-Wing is hardly in the same league as a trilogo Madine or Vinyl Cape Jawa in terms of desirability.

Anyway the market has spoken, and that's what it sold for on the day.

I am too shocked mate :!: It was just a case of two collectors that really wanted it on the day. Another day I reckon it would have sold for around £500-£600 :!:
As u say mate it's done now.

Hope u can find a nice bubble for the card, at least u won't have to look for a footer which seems to b the pain in the arse these days :!:

bosk70 that's a great haul- well done!
Here's my latest. Palitoy 41A card and bubble. Made a footer from a crappy cardback, bought a decent loose, complete figure and resealed. Wasn't as straightforward as I was expecting due to the layers of litho lifting away from the cardboard on the left. Had to have a couple of goes and re-do a bit, but got there in the end.

Thanks Cazza good job on that re-seal , never thought I would ever do one , I was just fortunate that the card back had just been cleanly ripped so I was able to just place it back in position, with nothing to technical , as it was a childhood collection its the same Han put back in that came out plus the playwear :)

Well done on the reseals to both bosk70 and Andy, they both look great and it's always nice to some vintage goodness pieced back together. Not something that I would ever do though

These just arrived in the post this morning, I know a couple have incorrect weapons, but I'll track the correct ones down 😀

I think its been a couple of years since I last posted in this thread, as I've not been buying much.
But over the lockdown I've bought a number of items so thought I'd share a couple here.

First up is this ESB Meccano poster:
