With Celebration now a distant memory the boys return to the usual format for Episode 60. The team start with a reflection on Peter Mayhew who we've sadly lost since the last show.

Anthony Spinnickie joins Stuart and Richard to discuss his Ben Kenobi and Luke Skywalker focuses and how he got involved with Chive Cast and their social media amongst many other topics.

In this months Newest Acquisitions the lads look at a whole array of items, including a ray gun! Rich explains about a fantastic gift give to Adam Pemberton at Echo Live and there is understandably a look at some Chewbacca items that have been purchased including the height of Star Wars fashion items: The Chewbacca Bandolier Strap.

Pete keeps the Chewbacca love going during 'Beyond the Newest Acquisitions' as we find some amazing oddball items of the beloved Wookiee.
Rebel Briefings sees Richard look at the world of Protomolds and the fantastic article produced by Ben Sheehan as well as revisiting last months Vectis Auction.

As well as all this we talk Hakes and Echo Live as well as the usual quiz and much much more.

Enjoy the Show!!!

About an hour off from the end and a great way for me to work away with this on today :D

Enjoyable as ever and I found the Protomolding section really interesting even if I was a little lost at points (always good to have something new to research about though at a later date!). Anthony Spinnickie's interview was also really interesting to hear about his collecting journey and it just goes to show that you can still put a decent vintage collection together now a days.

I must admit that the opening quiz section on these pod casts isn't usually a highlight for me (probably due to how badly I always seem to do), but Pete's snooker related quiz was inspired this month and really enjoyable (even if Pete still hasn't woken up to the joyful feeling of owning reseals). Drowning out Jez's slight rant was comic genius even though he is my favourite pod cast member due to his family living in Bristol, (and also for my resealed Chewie finding such a happy home....Pete take note :D ).

A couple of quick things to mention is that the Palitoy 12 back Chewbacca moc that was mentioned went for £5500 back in November 2012 although there was a Palitoy 30 back FX-7 that went for around £7.5-8K at Vectis after the chewie so that's maybe what you were thinking of (sometimes it pays to have kept ebay sales of Palitoy reseals and mocs since 2012 I'm thankful to finally say :? ). Also my thoughts on one of the possible reasons for changing some of the artwork of main characters during the Jedi era would be to help keep selling some of the first released characters. Looking at these characters they'd been around for a very long time so perhaps Kenner were looking at a way of repackaging them to help with their sales. Just a thought but I'm looking forward to finishing the rest of the show off and thanks for the poster and pins bundle from last month, I'll pass on my details soon so please don't think I don't want them, they're very much appreciated.

Keep on keepin' on guys and look forward to the next :D

Hey guys, thanks for another great show, am enjoying this now as I am writing this post 8)
Yeh that 2012 Palitoy 12 back Chewy sale was unbelievable at the time and it actually went for 5.6K :!: I rem speaking to a collector buddy of mine at the time of the auction who was desperate for that Chewy as it was the set completer for his 12 back run and he said he was going all out and bidding over 4K and I was like well u have won that then mate with that bid and we were obviously blown away with the winning bid

That eBay auction result was actually the catalyst for me selling up my 12&20 back set in early 2013.

Another enjoyable episode! I also have a soft spot for the Bandolier Strap, I'd like to own a nice sealed one. I have never seen a Palitoy box, but they were for sale over here in these Special Buy bags late in the line, probably left over stock from the mail away offer:

Excellent show guys. You might want to check into Jez's microphone as it kept cutting out for some reason during the quiz. Technical difficulties I'm sure....eh hem. ;)

It is a head scratcher as to why Kenner decided to change the images on a few select figures for ROTJ. I don't believe it has anything to do with violence as the Han Solo image still has him holding a blaster. Also for some reason they changed Yoda too. Maybe they thought the Jedi Master looked better with a right profile vs. left? :)

Also enjoyed the discussion on protomolds and all the Chewie items. To this day I've never owned the bandolier strap. I remember seeing them sitting on the shelves for months on end and even when they were dirt cheap, I never had a desire to get one as a kid. Definitely a miss by Kenner designers on this one.

Keep up the great work fellas. Always look forward to the show each and every month.

Just finished- another great episode! Edd beat me to it about the bandolier strap- available in Woolies I think?

Loved all the Chewie stuff- perfect tribute to Peter Mayhew.

Ps- somebody get Jez a Snickers...
