i placed a beater moc in a gw case the other week some beaters go in fine. but some cards i own have litho edge wear and when i insert them they scrape more of the card away on the edge and outer edge.

im thinking a top loader sleeve around the sides would prevent scraping of the card.

thoughts boys?

and yes the card is flat.

Just fold a long relatively narrow piece of paper to make a groove which you can either put along the card edges or directly feed into the trenches on each side of the case. Feed the cardback in to the case with the paper still round it and then slide out your 2 pieces of paper when the moc's in place.

Simples!

Exactly this - works perfectly

The edges of the rails are polished - however if there is already some edgewear / tearing then sliding it along anything hard (not just a GW case) wouldn't help

As the boys have suggested - fold some paper over the edges of the card and use that to slide them up - will be a lot smoother and then you can pull them out when finished.

Would also recommend a wooden spoon (clean!) or a wooden ruler to slide them under the top rail

Someone should tell AFA about this method as I'm sure some I've had graded have been damaged like this. :?

To be fair not all cases will do this. I've had a defective GW case that took a small slice out of a Takara land speeder, the rest worked fine.

Christian was great and replaced the case and has promised me a free extra case, but anyone using acrylic cases should be aware of the potential damage if a case isn't just right.
