For me it's a godawful looking figure, with as much connection to Star Wars as a Thundercat...

(Im really going to have to apologise if someone here bought it!!)

I think this went for a fairly sensible price, £1900 plus fees:

apparently its a footballer who's been dropping a lot of the big money on recent Vectis sales (as told by a man in a vintage SW shop).

i agree that Jawa miscard was quite reasonable (as much as anything can be reasonable when its £2k for a toy). The Palitoy diecast Falcon shipping box and four crushed falcons went for £1190 after fees, too high for me but not that bad considering how rare any SW era Palitoy shipping boxes are.

I would have thought the Falcons were £200 each max considering the damage, so on the other hand £390 for an empty plain cardboard box does seem quite steep

Wasn't the Vlix a first shot? That would help explain the price.

Not one of Vecti's most interesting sales (I guess that Welsh toy shop has now stopped giving) but still a few very nice high end items. Would have loved the Mecanno Yoda but who wouldn't'?

Some of the prices these days shock me, I know some of the items are rare but some of the prices are just mad, just who has that kind of spare change available apart from footballers etc, trouble is it has the usual knock on effect at the local boot sales where I like to trawl, that vintage sw so its a £10 for a play worn grubby paint rubbed ewok  not that I'm bashing ewoks  I luv ewoks with a passion  honest

Or the r5d4 at the boot sale last year with half a sticker and one leg for £8 :)

Interesting thing is this & the hybrid HH are the exact same ones that sold last year, only this time they went for about half the price this time. I looked at the markings and descriptions - definitely the same ones.

Any ideas? Original bidders decided they got caught up in the madness, and decided not to pay, or after winning decided they'd been stupid so should sell to get some money back?

Meccano Yoda was the same - I'd bet its a non paying bidder just playing games. Makes you wonder who you're bidding against doesn't it?!

If it is a footballer or footballers buying these, I'd make a guess at the latter - buy high item things and soon get bored. Its the equivalent of most of us buying a £50 item and selling it at a loss.

If you earn low money for a footballer £10k or £20k a week - £2k is still not a lot to worry about.

If i had known it was gonna be so cheap i would have bid. But thats not to say the other bidder would have stopped there but i presumed the low estimate £2000 would have been the starting point, guess i was wrong.

The footballer thing is a load of nonsense.

It came from someone who sold a load of stuff linked with Vectis but I did take it with a sensible amount of scepticism

No reason for him to make it up - either way there are some buyers with deep pockets
