As I've said before, I had to sell my childhood Star Wars figures when my daughter was born. I had almost nothing left aside for some ships and odds and sods. I used to keep my figures in a rucksack and I happened to just check this one afternoon last summer and found a solid black palace blaster from my Luke Poncho...bonus, sadly the mint figure was long gone to Spain with the job lot.

About 3 months later I found a pencil case full of old odds and sods in my mum and dad's garage. In the case was some hoth gas masks, a Hoth rifle and a Luke poncho belt !

Headed over to eBay to get the figure and got one for £10 mint no poncho. And then a poncho for £5.

Then one of our wonderful members on here ( Chris ) sold me a card back with a cut bubble, bit crushed but not awful, but the card was very bowed.

Finally last week I obtained an acrylic case from GW. And thought....I wonder if the case would hold the bubble in place where it was cut....well it did not, but only due to the card being bowed.

Some tips from the forum saw me gently iron the card flat and I got the figure back into the bubble ( very hard to do it was very tight ) and after my Toy Toni ironing job the card went straight in and the bubble was almost perfectly held by the cases inner edges.

The net result is luck & about £30 equals the picture below :D

I am 40 years old, should I be this happy about an old toy !!

you should be very happy mate, looks very pretty but what I wanna know is how the hell did you get a poncho for a fiva, awesome job :)

Too right you feel happy mate, great story and great work to end up with a belter 8)

The thing is, this has a history for you now, to me that's the important part, You look at a piece you have and it has memories attached, it's very own pedigree

Great stuff, really pleased for you mate :D

Mate that's a great story and a fantastic looking piece. Can I share it on the GW Acrylic group?
Of course mate. Share away. GW's quality is an equal part in the deal

Chris

I indeed owe you :)

Thanks again

Looks great and what's even better is the story behind it. That figure has pieces from your original and you were able to restore it by hunting everything down. Well done man!

It's great you've rescued some childhood vintage, mate.

But.....

You've put his arms through the belt holes. :D
