I tend to use baby wipes, cheap and easy and not chemical based.
Make sure you squeeze the access moisture from the wipe first though.

I use maplin label remover for sticker residue. Never used it on cardboard though but it's magic on plastics. And lemony fresh too

thanks for all the help folks :wink: , i opted for the safest method first which was the baby wipes ...no effect at all as the residue is to hard , i then tried some mr muscle ....it removed a tiny amount of the top layer of residue and thats it .
the tiny amount i removed def helps the look of the moc and i wont try to remove anymore for fear of causing damage
