So Disney have unveiled the first range of SW Toys that will be avaliable in Disney Stores

Their extremely dissapointing!!

I hope they book their ideas up for the new films

I don't see what the problem is! I think they actually look pretty good. Admittedly Leia looks a bit of a drag Queen, but the Bantha and Tauntaun look pretty cool. And I normally hate cuddly toys.
 
Compared to some of the other modern stuff I think they look pretty good,
My daughter has some of those little figure sets (from other films) and they tend to be quite accurate.
 
I think some of this gear looks OK. The larger light up figures look pretty cool to me especially the stormie
 
Plush toys and mugs look cool. I would buy one of those mugs for my tea :)

Dunno what the script is with those figures. I haven't watched the vid or even read the whole thread, but are they supposed to be 'collectibles' rather than kids toys? Never liked these instant collectibles :|

Some look ok i guess, but others look like dog turd - both versions of Leia and the Luke x-wing figure :lol: QC must have been closed that day.

Problem with those is they're not action figures. They statues. They don't look very fun for kids and adult collectors are going to find them pretty uninspiring.
Also, why are they releasing toys of the original trilogy anyway?? Shouldn't they be starting a new line based on the new films?
I mean, i couldn't care less but everything that could be done in terms of merchandise for the originals trilogy has been done. We've had 30 years of rehashing, rereleasing, redesigning, remarketing the same **** over and over. So these "new" ones are neither here nor there. Who cares??

What would be fun is if they released figures for the new film in the exact style of the vintage kenner figures. Same cards same style etc. And perhaps adding some figures from the OT that were never released back in the day: The Rebel Soldiers, Slave Leia, The spy from Mos Eisley, Han Stormtrooper, a decent Vader! etc
 
That Luke X-Wing is ****ing ugly. Head is way too big for his body. Some of these look like McDonald's toys. Wow more PVC figures...did we not get enough of these in the 90's from Applause. Some of the sculpts look cheap to me as well.
 
Lukes head is defo way to big for his body. Reminds me of those little football character people used to collect with the big heads in the 90's.

I had the exact same thought as I recently sold some of them on Ebay.

The 12" stormy and Han look nice, but I have no interest in modern stuff. It's all a bit shite to me.

First thing I thought was the applause range :roll:

Pete...again spot on...they are statues
bring out some relevant ranges to the new films, stop bloody rehashing and reinventing the wheel.
 
I don't think they look that bad -better than some of the steroid filled figures released recently. I can see the point about them being statues rather then action figures but I guess that kids today want their toys to do a bit more than we did when we were that age
