Holiday special is 35 years old on Sunday

For those that haven't seen it you've got to give it a go! As SW fans you owe it to yourselves. I'd heard so much bad press about it that I wanted to watch it just because I couldn't believe anything SW could be really bad - and it was terrible, couldn't get past the first 20 minutes the first time I tried to watch it

I'll happily stick a copy on a disc and send it out to anyone that wants it - it's worth it for the tv adverts alone
My copy is pretty crap quality though, best watched on a small mp3 player or mobile phone.

Lets all put on our red gowns and celebrate life day together :D

The prequels were bad enough. It's just too risky to watch something that may ruin star wars anymore than they did

It's the kind of thing that even if you watched it while drinking with mates in an attempt to have a laugh, you would find that after 10 minutes your mates smiles and laughter would turn into open mouths and looks of despair. They would get their coats, walk out and may never speak to you again.

It's possible that if you had friends who were Star Wars fans who also enjoyed smoking crack while watching movies you might be able to make it a fun evening..but I seriously doubt it.

LEAVE.IT.ALONE.

Admit it Joe you have these in your collection, sure they came on a tri logo card :D

Colin, am I right in thinking Kenner actually made these as prototypes, or am I making it up (playful wishful thinking, perhaps... )?

Todd - just watched that and to be honest quite enjoyed it. Was this part of a series or something? Never seen anything like it before. Boba Fett riding Puff The Magic Dragon was a bit weird :?

It was a one off. I don't think they knew what Boba was back then. Lucas still to this day doesn't understand the fan appeal for this character

Really? Next to Han Solo he's about the coolest character in Star Wars. Difficult to say why exactly. Even from his small role in the movies Fett begins to across as a cold and intelligent money driven killer. I think he's possibly the one character (including his father) that the prequels did justice to 8)

So was this animated special part of the Holiday Spesh?

Martin as far as I am aware they were getting geared up to produce these figures (thinking the TV special would be another SW hit) but obviously when the show bombed they stopped at the prototype stage. Sure these figures are pride of place in someone's collection :D

Ok I concede! I only managed 20 odd minutes before I switched it off, just can't get past the little holo images of circus performers on the table :?
Happy life day to everyone though :D

P.S. Hey maybe some day we'll get the unaltered original trilogy on blu ray and the holiday special will be on the bonus disc
