All,

I have just rekindled my love for Vintage Star Wars and have decided to start collecting again (from scratch). I have just sourced an Imperial Shuttle (without box etc) and I think its from the Saga series but firstly I want to validate which version it is and then to secure the original box and instructions etc. Apart from trawling ebay so far, any tips or guidance from the experts.

Thanks in advance.

First of all we need a picture of the shuttle to see if it is a re-issue. Loose boxes do come up for sale from time to time, but expect to pay a premium for a loose box.

Thank you for your prompt response - see attached image.

Yes its a modern version. This is an original next to a modern one.

OK thanks for the confirmation - no problem as I suspected it was the more Modern version. Rather than chasin a box, I think I'll give it to the kids and hunt for the vintage. On that, am I right in thinking that their aren't many about?

They are a tough one to find - and those that come up on eBay unboxed do tend to be the modern ones (even though they have the same date stamp which can fool a lot of buyers)

It is not a cheap item to find - I know Gary (sithsmith) had a few for sale but whether he has anymore I don't know but you could drop him a PM

Is that a box for the Modern (i.e. mine) or for a Vintage. Also, any inserts or instructions?

If you post a pic and price that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

Such a cool ship. Was anybody lucky enough to have one as a kid? I had a Falcon, Y-Wing, X-Wing and Snow Speeder, plus a couple of Mini Rigs, but none of the other large ships or playsets. I think a Shuttle and B-Wing would have made me one happy chap back then :)

ahh no worries. I remember seeing one in a german toy shop back in the day but had moved onto transformers by then. I actually think i saw it nestled next to a motu eternia playset...now that was one big ass box!!!!
