    Valuation Request Please!

I'd be interested in the Jawa if you decide to sell. Cheers, Mark.

When and why did you stop collecting SW

For me, I had lots of stuff in the first wave of 1978, then more in 1980 with the release of Empire. But by the time of Jedi in 1983 I'd grown out of it.....I was only 11 going on 12 but bikes, football, fighting fantasy books and yes, boobs had taken over. Oh, and Atari. So my last figures were...

    First ever Star Wars Item

My first items were the blue bordered Topps cards, and a cassette of the soundtrack and a stormtrooper mask probably at Christmas 1977. My first figure was a Palitoy Chewbacca, quite probably a 12 back, sometime into 1978. Probably bought from Zodiac toys in Preston.

Death Star for me (although I actually think the young me would have got much more playability out of the Kenner Death Star than the Palitoy one). It was all over for me by the time ROTJ appeared, I was firmly a SW and ESB era child, and had moved on by the time of ROTJ.

Scent of a vintage Star Wars figure

I did have Vader and still have him minus his cape, but there was never a sweet smell with him, only with the TFP.

Scent of a vintage Star Wars figure

I had/still have my Palitoy Tie Fighter Pilot from back in the day, and he smelt sweet and a bit like strawberries when I got him, and I can still catch the feintest whiff of it to this day. None of my other figures smelled of anything but plastic.

    What if?

Tarkin or Rebel Fleet Trooper for me. As a kid, I thought Tarkin was creepy as hell and a bit scary, and the Rebel Fleet Troopers looked really cool in their combat pants and I loved their headgear. I would've happily played with both.

What is your best ever bargain??

I suppose I'm cheating a bit when I tell you mine. Only about 3 or so years ago, I found out what a Red Bar R5 D4 is. I went and checked out my own childhood R5 after reading about it and lo and behold, it's a Red Bar!! I suppose my parents paid around £1.49 for it in 1979. Bargain.

    Removing mould inside bubble?

I have a Meccano Ben who had a frosted arm, an hour in the sun and it was all gone and hasn't returned.

    Trash Monster! Figure or novelty?!?!

Your run can include whatever you want it to include. It's all just fun. If I was trying to complete that run I rather think I'd be like you and wanting to also include stuff like the Droid Factory R2 and Max Rebo band etc, because I'm a completist.

41 years ago star wars had premiere in London

Anyone know when Star Wars opened at the Odeon Preston? It would be sometime in 1978 when I was taken to see it. Life hasn't been the same since!!
