He may not look much like he did on the big screen, but he was my absolute favorite figure when I was four years old. He had bright colors and strange looking feet. He was fun.
He looks fantastic on your playsets, I love how you display him, thanks for sharing themWalrus Man also makes a guest appearance in 3 of my playsets.
It's a Kenner employee store 21 back cut card. The fun variation is that it has an orange footer instead of the usual green one.Cool cut moc, is it from a 12 back ? palitoy or kenner ?![]()
Thanks carl for sharing that beautiful moc and your 2 figures on display. I guess kenobi would have had problems if there had been 2 walrus man in the cantinaI have a 20bk AFA 70, I also have two loose colour head variants
Hammerhead had the imperial blaster, but when I was a kid, I remember that Snaggletooth, Greedo and Walrus man had the same as Han SoloI believe my childhood one came with a Han Solo blaster as well. I think it's a better choice than the imperial one for this character.
About the PBP figures are the M7A the correct blaster as I understand it from the PBP book it is the M7B ?Walrus Man. A good likeness of the character? No. Sensible card artwork? No. Tusks that don't look like a posterior? No.... BUT (pun intended), one of the first 20 figures released? Yes! A must-have figure from my childhood? Yes!! Very fond memories of playing with Mr Bumface and his Cantina pals in my Palitoy Cantina back in the 1970's? Yes!!!
At first glance, you might think there aren't a lot of variants to be had with old Walrus, but you might be surprised! Upon closer inspection it's not just his tusks that vary; so do his pupils, head and limb colours, and even his body colour. Plus we get the good old glossy PBP paint on those versions
Anyway, enough waffle, here are my WM's! From left to right:
Smile II, 1b figure, M5a Smile blaster - Matte slightly lighter green head, darker orange body, large pupils, white tusks.
Smile II, 1a figure, M5a Smile blaster - Matte dark green head, large pupils, white tusks.
Smile II, 1b figure, M5b Smile blaster - Shiny dark green head, small pupils, white tusks.
Smile I, 3a figure, M5b Smile blaster - Shiny dark green head, large pupils, pink tusks.
Smile I, 3b figure, M5a Smile blaster - Shiny very dark green head, large pupils, brighter/redder pink tusks.
PBP 2bb figure, M7a Kader blaster - Shiny dark green head, darker orange body, large pupils, white tusks, dark blue limbs, dark green hands, shiny black painted feet.
PBP 2a figure, M7a Kader Blaster - Shiny very light green head, darker orange body, small pupils, pink tusks, dark blue limbs, light green hands, shiny black painted feet.
About the pictures on the back of the cardbacks, some figures was photographed with wrong weapon, that is what I have heard. I don't think Walrus man was sold with the rebel blaster. Only as factory errors or if the factory ran out of imperial blasters then they added some other weapons as far as I know.View attachment 202274 Back in the 80´s, I believe in 1982, I got a Walrus Man toy in a L.A. Toys R´Us, and the weapon it had was the same that Han Solo has as a toy. When Kenner changed it for blaster? Any one had the Walrus Man with the other gun?
beautiful moc, thanks for sharing itHere's my walrus man. 21 B back with much preferred pink tusks. Paint rub on the tusks even when MOC!! The photos dont show, but the paint residue is all clearly visible on the inside of the blister.
You have a Walrus Man army!Sorry that I am a little late in this thread.
But here are my figures, I have removed all the blasters, sorry about that I am working on adding the correct blaster variant of each figure, it takes a lot of time to do that.
