I need some help . I have just got over 90 figures out of my loft after years of storage . A friend looked at them and said some are worth a lot of money . He picked out the vinyl cape jawa and said this one especially. Is this true . If so we're would be the best place to sell them and all the state wars vehicles I have .
Many thanks
Tim

Well this provides a Photoshop opportunity.

Seriously, pictures say more than a thousand words, Tim. The lads here are great at putting a value on things. And you can sell on here too!

Regarding the Jawa, yes they are worth loads of money, but there's a lot of fakery going round. With the help of a few good pictures, the lads will be able to tell you if yours is the real thing.

Hi buddy ,

Most of your figures are pretty common and most incomplete ( no guns ) they have been really played with , just what they were designed for :) , the ships look in pretty used condition and missing parts which will really affect the value .

Figures are worth £3 to £20 depending on condition and if complete , most the lower end

The ships are worth £10 to £75 , the Snowspeeder , Y Wing and Tie fighter look to be in the best condition

The Vinyl cape Jawa looks good , however you would need close of pictures of the cape and check for any rips and tears , also any paint loss on the figure , values on these loose go from £450 to £1000 loose for a minty one

Good luck

Thanks very much for your help . Would you say eBay will be the best place to sell the items . Only I have been hearing horror stories about being ripped off on there . Sadly most have been well played with when I was little but hey ho that's what they were for . The jawa is in fab condition as it was left in the snow speeder while in loft . No rips or chips in it . But it has no blaster .
Thanks again for your help . Tim

Have a really good look again in the loft for the weapons. You could certainly get a lot more for your collection if your figures were reunited with their accessories.
You appear to have a few last 17 figures (the last in the line) which makes me curious about the R2D2s. A photo of the top of them would identify them as either: original, sensor scope or pop up saber (last 17). If it's the later that could be worth a fair few quid. Likewise you have the Han Carbonite (again last 17) if you kept the carbonite block they are worth a few quid. Not as much as the VCJ mind you.

Some good quality photos will help.

With regards to your question. I'd stay away from eBay especially if you don't Ebay much. There are stories of unpleasant shenanigans (cape swapping) etc, plus if you have limited feedback some people may be sceptical of you. Nothing beats selling at a toy fair. Second to that would be on here or some Facebook groups. Some Facebook groups are dedicated auction groups.
If you live within a few hours of Fordingbridge (New Forest) you'd do well going to a Toy Show in December there.

Better put up some close up pictures of the cape in this thread first before you put it on sale, Tim. We can ascertain if it's definitely real then and attach a price to it. You can then put it up for sale against a proper asking price in your other thread. Does that sound good to you?

By the way, by a close up I mean really close up, so we can see the pattern on the vinyl.

Hi Tim ,

Based on the photos I can see , the condition on the figure is fair as there is paint loss and some discolouration ,the condition of the cape would need to be reviewed very closely and not by the naked eye .

I would value your figure at £700 to £800 based on it being 100% original

Good luck

This is as close to it as I can get with my camera . It's textured on the outside almost looks like a weave but you can't really see it until you magnify it and smooth on the inside . .it is still dusty from the loft as I didn't know wether I should clean it or not . Hope this helps . Thanks Tim
