Any suggestions, Ian? Don't know Bristol amazingly well. Wahacca (Mexican) is very good and Turtle Bay (Caribbean) is also good and have a cocktail happy hour. Went to The Urban Tandoor a couple of years ago and that was excellent.

I don't know many places either. I can imagine there's some nice places in Clifton and Park St to eat. The last time I ate there it was at the Harbourside where there are restaurants and bars.

I'm trying to get my mate scooternick to come but he's being bashful.

He's a Bristol local and socialite so he'll have tonnes of great ideas on where to go but he did say wahaca is right on the triangle and can get busy with student dicks on a Saturday night

Urban Tandoor looks to be good on small street from what I can see. Small street is off of corn street where there are a lot of bars so that's a bonus and I think there's a car park near there also.

When I go out for a curry I have tended to go to Redland Tandoori which is good food and a nice atmosphere although I don't think there are any bars by there anymore (although thinking about it there is one a fairly short walk from there). Redland is a lot quieter on a Saturday night than Small Street as Small Street is very close to the centre of town where it can get a bit rowdy on an evening. It depends what people what though, I quieter atmosphere or something a bit more lively? I'm easy with either. There is also a place on Gloucester Road that someone recommended to me the other day and although it's away from the town centre it's still got some life to it and bars close by. I'll find out the name of it and report back.

How about the Urban Tandoor then? It's in a pretty good spot and the food was excellent last time I went 8) We could meet somewhere for beers first and then make our way there. Any ideas where to meet?

That sounds like a plan and I'll have a look what's around by small street to see if I have any ideas. I haven't drank on Corn Street (which is next to small St), for years so things have changed I'm sure but I'll check in with my mates to see what they think.

Hi lads

I'm keen to join you guys if there's still space. As Clark's Pie mentioned, I know Bristol really well so if you need any more help organising let me know.

Cheers

Cheers Andy.
Places to drink near curry house:
Horts - decent size / bit like a Wetherspoons(!) so pub style, but not full of hipsters.
Strawberry Thief - belgian beer bar which does top beer, some may think pretentious and may not suit everyone.
The rummer hotel - known for huge selection of spirits and quite nice atmosphere. Can be pricey and again may not suit everyone.
Anything on Kings Street - loads of great craft beers places (my go to area). Best one for a larg'ish group is the royal naval volunteer. Plenty of room and great beer. 5 min brisk walk from curry house so little further away than others.

There are **** loads of other places but on Saturday night a lot can be busy and difficult to find somewhere to sit down. If people are just up for somewhere decent to have a drink without the comfort of a seat then there are plenty of other options......

Anyone staying over?

Really want to come but the hour and a half drive each way is putting me off. Well the one there seems fine, just don't fancy driving home at 10 or 11pm!
