Earlier this year I decided to take the plunge and have a go at creating some customs. Starting with an XWL without his helmet

Not long till I'd built a small squadron...

After much coercion Mr Hammerhead finally signed up

With as many X-Wing pilots as any rebellion could want for, I moved on this weekend to have a crack at a rebel trooper:

This one is the most I've been willing to divert from Kenner style painting by using more colours than a vintage figure would have ever had and applying more detail. No plans despite the skills being there, to add any realism though despite how tempting a Fett might be...

B-Wing Pilot
May do more work on this one..

cool stuff. Great idea for a rainy afternoon surrounded by absolute beaters.

I suggest a Y-wing pilot in someway shape or form next.

Love those - considering what they looked like when they left the US of A then you have worked wonders with them :D

Thanks mate, they are indeed mainly the results of a bit of work using stock from the bottom of your bargain buckets of beaters... to be fair, I couldn't justify making them if the raw materials weren't so well priced!

Amazing how the time flies when listening to the Podcast... you requested him and I made him!
Looking at the box, the Y-Wing is piloted by Akbar, so why not have him in the Y-Wing flight suit???

Couple of touch-ups to polish him in the morning, but happy with him for a couple of hours work.

Good work Steve, very fast.

Group photo shot needed of X-wing, Y-wing, A-wing & B-wing pilots now, getting a pep talk from a custom Leia :D

Had a crack at a DROIDS style Fett this week:

quite a lot of fun, but even a total beater gets the Fett tax applied it seems!

Good use of beaters. I gather that's what they were. Cool stuff 8)

Cheers 8)
Confirmed, they were once all beaters, almost all sourced via Iain with major paint loss, scratching & scuffs or ridiculously loose limbs
