I picked this Blaster up in a job lot of vintage weapons, passed the float test and drop test and according to Imperial gunnery ( as best I can see ) it's legit.

But it's solid black and Matt finish so suggestive of Luke Stormtrooper or Thall Joben, what do others think ?

God forbid I am wrong and it's a repro.

I'm not an expert but it doesn't look right to me. I've not seen one with that big circle on the side and the chunk of plastic on the bottom. Whether it is or isn't a repro it looks to have been damaged, the surface looks very pitted, they're normally fairly smooth.

Looks like a V2 to me and definitely legit. The V2 has a very rough finish to a greater or lesser degree.

I don't believe the V2 version was made in solid black though. It looks like very dark blue/black to me. Some blur black accessories can be very dark looking like solid black unless compared to a know solid black accessory. Try holding it over a torch to see if there is indeed a hint of blue to it. Also hold next to a Zuckuss rifle, Leia Boushh staff or other true black accessory.

It is a V2 (rough texture which I suspect due to the increased surface area did not release from the mould well hence the addition of the ejector pin mark, can be found without EPM)

I still can't quite see the blue but just asked my 11 and 7 year old and they both said Dark Blue !

Oh to have young eyes. So I am going dark blue V2 as my bet

Well that's learnt me! Never seen one like that in 11 years of collecting.

To be fair, Rob, it's one of the less common variants. I think I've only come across a couple in that time.

He has been selling these V2s for years in dribs and drabs. Available one month, not the next. He has dropped the price on these ones in the last month or so.

There was a thread about these a year or so back and the general consensus was they are not repro, and they do look right to me I have to say, but he must have a hell a lot of them knocking about, seemingly never ending supply.

Chris

I have also only seen a few of them, I am sure I have a few in my own collection.
