Toltoys Vintage adverts

Postby BlueDog » Tue Jul 21, 2015 9:17 am

Thought a few on here might like to see these if they're not on FB or in the Toltoys FB group. These were recently uploaded by a member of the group Steve from his childhood scrapbook. I believe it's the first time an advert has been found featuring a Toltoys logo 12 back and also revealed a Toltoys inflatable light sabre previously not known to exist.

The link goes to a closed group, is there any chance of posting the pic of the inflatable light saber?

My eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw that first advert (for half a second) as there were no Luke X-Wing Toltoys made. I then saw the Kenner logo. Odd that there is a Kenner card in a Toltoys advert.
Nice post.

Nice one James, it certainly has been a good couple of months for Toltoys stuff.

 Sorry Jez I did the same thing when I saw that pic for the first time, Toltoys LXW ?????!!!!!

It's a pity they didn't carry on with the Toltoys Logo through the rest of the first 21and on to ESB like Palitoy did.

I thought the same, it's a great logo.

Was Toltoys specifically created to sell the Star Wars line? I only ask as the Toltoys logo font is rather similar to the Star Wars font, is it just coincidence?

The company has been around since the late 40's but I don't think it started trading under the name Toltoys until the 60s. There was also another version of the logo where the letters look somewhat like coloured building blocks and another with the same font in rainbow colours.
