Darth Vader has a black suit. Most people are aware of this. This suit represents his existence as a cyborg hybrid, meaning that he is a combination of both human and machine components. If you are unfamiliar or need refreshing on the storyline, Darth Vader was one Anakin Skywalker. After being lured to the dark side and being instrumental in a Sith ploy to eradicate the Jedi and bring down the Old Republic, Anakin enters a duel with his former master and mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi on the volcanic planet of Mustafar. During the battle, Anakin Skywalker is gravely injured, losing both of his legs and an arm. He is left lying near a lava river, severely burned and on the brink of death. Darth Sidious, the Dark Lord of the Sith, found Anakin and had him transported to a secret medical facility, where he was given extensive cybernetic replacements for his lost limbs and outfitted with a life-support suit. This suit, which became Darth Vader's iconic appearance, includes a helmet, a respirator, and a set of black armor that helps regulate his breathing and other bodily functions. Many years later, Vader duels with young Luke Skywalker on Cloud City, a tibanna gas mining platform on the planet Bespin. In this engagement Vader severs Luke's right hand before telling him the unfathomable news that he is Luke's father. Luke is able to escape from Vader and is rescued by his friends in the Millennium Falcon.

At the end sequence of The Empire Strikes Back, a 2-1B droid onboard a Rebel Alliance medical frigate fits Luke with a bionic arm. In The Return of the Jedi Luke attempts to turn his father away from he dark side. In the Emperor's chambers within the second Death Star, Darth Sidious instructs Vader to duel Luke as a means of determining who would make a more powerful apprentice. Vader's emotional proddings of Luke arouses him to a surge of anger that ultimately results in Luke overpowering Vader and cutting off his right hand. As Vader lies defeated on the deck of the chamber Luke's gaze is fixated on the wires emerging from Vader's severed hands. In a moment of reflect Luke stares back at his own bionic hand, and realising that he would surely become a machine like his father if he continued on this path, he switches of his lightsaber and declines the Emperor's request that he take Vader's place. But what does this have to do with AI? Here, both Vader's suit and Luke's bionic arm represent the blurring of humans and machines. In this isomorphism, Vader represents the second modernity; Powerful Globalisation, Empire Building and Technological Change. Luke represents the third modernity; Complexity, De-differentiation, Post-Secularity, Network Society and Reflexive Modernization. For Vader, Technology has resulted in him (society) becoming completely machine like. Just as Luke is Vader's son, the third modernity is born out of the second modernity. The third modernity offers a fresh start for humanity, but if society choses to view and utilise technology in the same manner as the second modernity; ie. if Luke decides to become like his father; them humanity is doomed to become machine like.

Star Wars offers 'A New Hope' in terms of the technological future of humanity in the third modernity. It does this in the depiction of Luke relationship with R2-D2. Whilst R2-D2 is a droid, Luke's relationship with him is one of deep friendship and mutual trust. R2-D2 serves as Luke's loyal companion and confidant throughout his journey to become a Jedi and the two share many adventures and experiences together. R2-D2 is often portrayed as a reliable and resourceful partner to Luke, providing essential information, technical assistance, and even saving his life on multiple occasions. In turn, Luke values and respects R2-D2's contributions, often speaking to him in a friendly and familiar tone, and relying on him as a trusted ally and friend. The bond between Luke and R2-D2 is strengthened by their shared experiences, including their time together on Tatooine, their journey to rescue Princess Leia from the Death Star, and their involvement in battles against the Empire. Their relationship also reflects the themes of loyalty, perseverance, and friendship that are central to the Star Wars saga. This is in stark contrast to how Vader interacts with imperial droids. The relationship between Darth Vader and droids is primarily one of utilitarianism and instrumentalism. Vader views droids as tools to be used for accomplishing his goals, rather than as sentient beings with their own thoughts and feelings. He shows a willingness to destroy or dispose of droids that are no longer useful or have outlived their usefulness, such as when he destroys a group of medical droids in Revenge of the Sith. Much of the future depends on how we treat and utilise technology.

In many ways smartphones can be compared to Star Wars droids. Advancements in artificial technology in the real world means that smartphones approach a level of consciousness, autonomy and sentience exhibited by droids in the Star Wars galaxy. Both droids and smartphones have soft and hard architecture capabilities to interact with the environment; ie you can use your easily use your smartphone to control various home devices via downloadable apps. Thirdly, smartphones, like droids, can perform a wide range of functions from communication, and entertainment to productivity, research and navigation. For me personally, everyday activities like getting into my car and connecting my iPhone to Apple CarPlay feels a lot like getting into an X-Wing with my very own R2 unit. Loading up Google Maps via Apple CarPlay and setting a destination feels a lot like giving my R2 a navigation point. Feeling connected to an algorithm that knows what music I want to be played in the car feels a lot like there is a personalised relationship. Yes, it sounds a little crazy. But does it? When technology such as smartphones are designed to help users instead of instruments of data surveillance and collecting behavioural surplus; when we are able to trust technology and build loyal relationships with it; then the Luke in our society is able to remain Luke instead of becoming the next Vader; the next generation of a society that is destined to turn humanity into machines.

FLOOD MYTH

The flood myth is a story that is found in many cultures and religions around the world, which describes a catastrophic flood that destroys all life on Earth, with only a few survivors who are able to escape on a boat or raft. [60] The most well-known version of the flood myth is the one found in the Abrahamic religions, including Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. In this version, God is said to have become displeased with the wickedness of humanity and decided to send a flood to cleanse the Earth. He commands the prophet Noah to build an ark and gather two of every kind of animal, along with his family, to survive the flood [64]. Other flood myths can be found in the stories of ancient civilizations such as the Sumerians, Babylonians, Greeks, and Native Americans, among others [63]. These stories often have variations in the details but share the common theme of a catastrophic flood that serves as a sort of "reset button" for the world. Some scholars suggest that these myths may have been inspired by actual historical events, such as a large-scale flood that occurred in the distant past and became part of the cultural memory of different societies. Others believe that the flood myth may represent a universal human experience of feeling overwhelmed by natural disasters and the need to survive and start anew. The myth has naturally led to modern interpretations as in the movie 2012 (2009) [65] A Flood scene is present in the Movie Antz (1998) [62]. A Flood scene is also present in the movie Metropolis (1927) [61]. A flood myth also occurs in the lore of Tolkien [67]. The myth also enters or manifests in the storylines of popular video games such as Halo. [66]

ORDER 66

Order 66 is a directive from the Star Wars prequel era that was issued by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine (also known as Darth Sidious) to the clone troopers of the Grand Army of the Republic. This order was designed to eliminate the Jedi Order, which Palpatine saw as a threat to his power and his plans for the galaxy [68]. When Order 66 was activated, the clone troopers turned on their Jedi commanders and began to systematically eliminate them. The Jedi, caught off guard by this sudden betrayal, were quickly overwhelmed and many were killed. Only a few Jedi managed to survive the initial onslaught, including Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda, and a few others who were either off-world or managed to avoid detection. The execution of Order 66 was a critical turning point in the Star Wars saga, as it led to the downfall of the Jedi Order and the rise of the Galactic Empire under Palpatine's rule.

ORDER 23

Order 66 was a flood. It wiped away the Republic and installed the Galactic Empire. A Real-Life Order 66 actually happened in the history of the Roman Empire [69] Instead of Order 66 what this book is proposing is Order 23. Order 23 is the systematic elimination or wiping out of second modernity SITH ideology. SITH is an acronym for 'Systems Intended Towards Hypercapitalism'. Order 23 is about collapsing existing SITH outdated hyper-capitalistic, democratic models and clean-slating society so that a Republic; a Republic featuring enlightened, awakened citizens and Jedi; can be installed in the third modernity.

PSIONIC INTELLIGENCE (THE FORCE)

A traditional definition of an intelligence agency is an organization that is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating information that is relevant to national security and foreign policy interests. Intelligence agencies typically operate in secrecy and are accountable to the government that they serve. Likewise, military intelligence refers to the gathering, analysis, and dissemination of information that is relevant to military operations and decision-making. Military intelligence serves as a critical component of national defense and is used to support a range of activities, including planning and executing military operations, assessing the capabilities and intentions of foreign militaries, and identifying potential threats to national security. The training of intelligence agents can vary depending on the agency, the country, and the specific role of the agent. However, there are some general principles and practices that are commonly used in the training of intelligence agents. One of the key components of intelligence agent training is the development of skills related to information gathering, analysis, and dissemination. This can involve training in various areas, such as communication and language skills, research and analysis techniques, and the use of specialized technology and equipment for gathering intelligence. Intelligence agent training may also include physical fitness and self-defense training, as agents may need to operate in challenging or dangerous environments [02]. Psychic warfare, also known as psi warfare, refers to the use of psychic abilities or paranormal phenomena for military or strategic purposes. The concept of psychic warfare has been explored in science fiction and popular culture, but there is little evidence to suggest that it has ever been used in a real-world military context. Some hypothetical examples of psychic warfare might include using telepathy or clairvoyance to gain intelligence on enemy activities, using psychokinesis to disrupt or destroy enemy equipment, or using remote viewing to gather information on enemy locations or activities. Here is a banned TED Talk on the subject: [01].The theme of psychic warfare has been explored in fictional films such as Starship Troopers (1997) [03}. It has also been explored in depth through contemporary video games, such as in the game Beyond Two Souls (2015) [04] But is it fiction or purely pseudoscience? Consider the Embassy Mission scenario in Beyond Two Souls [05]. The embassy mission is a pivotal chapter in the game's story. The mission takes place in the fictional Middle Eastern country of Iran, and the player takes on the role of Jodie Holmes, a CIA agent who has been sent to the American embassy in Iran to gather intelligence. During the mission, Jodie must use her psychic abilities to infiltrate the embassy and gather information on a planned terrorist attack. The mission involves a combination of stealth, exploration, and decision-making, as the player must navigate the complex social and political dynamics of the embassy and interact with a range of different characters, including embassy staff, Iranian protesters, and undercover operatives. Although it is a video game it is perhaps reflective of a hidden, entrenched interest by the intelligence community in this science. What I am trying to get at in this chapter is that in the field of modern warfare, existing intelligence agencies of the second modernity that use traditional methods are rendered ineffective in maintaining the sovereignty of nations. This vulnerability can be addressed through the creation of a new intelligence agency that trains and deploys psionic field agents or assets. Such operatives will be Jedi. National security will benefit in the research and training of the Jedi Knight.

JEDI MEDITATION

In Timothy Zahn's 'Heir to the Empire', the fragile remnants of the Imperial Starfleet float on the outskirts of the Obroa-skai system. On the secondary bridge of the Chimera, we join captain Pellaeon as he encounters Grand Admiral Thrawn seated on his meditation chair. Pellaeon makes the following observation: "He sat motionlessly, his shimmery blue-black hair glinting in the dim light, his pale blue skin looking cool and subdued and very alien on his otherwise human frame. His eyes were nearly closed as he leaned back against the headrest, only a glint of red showing between the lids." Seated before the captain was a Chiss of unparalleled military genius, one who would turn out to be the greatest threat to the New Republic.

We shall return to the Chimera in a moment, but first let us consider another Republic; the one described by Plato. In Plato's Republic we are presented with the Producer, Auxiliary and Guardian classes. The Farmers, Merchants, etc. that form the Producers have an appetite for money, capital, wealth, pleasure and temporal comforts. Most people in society are Producers. The Auxiliaries, or Military Class, are motivated by the search for honour, rank and praiseworthiness. Fewer people in society have the temperament of Auxiliaries. Auxiliaries are required to draw on their courage to protect society from outside dangers. The Guardians are distinguished from the other classes by the value they place on reason and wisdom. Their insight is not tarnished by any clinging to wealth or honor. For them the search for reason is above all else. The Guardians form the smallest class in numbers. They are the leaders of society that use their sound minds and intellect to make the right decision for society. Plato argues that Justice can only be achieved when the classes are harmonious, and each are correctly performing their duty without attempting to interfere or infringe on the duties of other classes. Justice is thus defined when the Producers are obedient to the laws and jurisdictions that are enforced by the Auxiliaries, but also when the Auxiliaries wholeheartedly cooperate with the rule of the Guardians.

There exists an isomorphism between the city and parts of the soul. They both have three parts with correspond to each other. The logos, or logistikon, which resides in head, is the part of the soul that is related to reason and regulates the other parts. The thymos, or thumoeides, which resides in the heart, is related to courage and spirit. The eros, or epithumetikon, which resides in the stomach, is related to apatite and desire. For justice to be established in the soul, the eros must be controlled by the thymos. In other words, we must not let our base desires dictate us or have unrestrictive power. We must maintain a sizeable reserve or garrison of honor and self-discipline to keep them always checked. But above this, we must strive to uphold a Guardian class to ensure that our notions of honor and self-discipline are governed correctly by wisdom. We must ensure that the Guardian elements of our soul are in the best position to make decisions in the best interest of all the classes; to appease, but not overindulge the needs of the Producers by ensuring that we seek adequate and timely objects of nourishment, whether this be food, music, drink, shelter, sleep, etc. Likewise, the Guardians should not negate the interests of the Auxiliaries.

But could we apply this isomorphism to say a naval ship, instead of a city? Consider the bridge of the Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera. Thrawn, as the Grand Admiral is in command of the fleet. Pellaeon, as a Captain, converts this command to issues of orders to the personnel of a ship within this fleet. At the end of the chain, an Ensign is assigned to carry out the orders that were issued. Using imagination, the three tiers of ranks can correspond to the three classes. Thrawn is effectively a Guardian. Pellaeon is effectively an Auxiliary. The Ensign is effectively a faculty. Notice that I didn't use the term Producer. When a wave of four New Republic Assault Frigates attack the Chimaera, a veteran Pellaeon is dispirited and sees a jump into lightspeed as the only solution, but Thrawn belays that order, and using his understanding of art to analyze the movement of the enemy ships he is able to conclude that their commander was an Elom, a race vulnerable to a classic Marg Sabl closure maneuver. The battle is won in an hour. When the auxiliary like courage of Pellaeon falters, it is the guardian like rationale and wisdom of Thrawn that determines the best course of action for the Chimaera.

But you must be asking what any of this has to do with meditation. For me the purpose of meditation gained real substance via an understanding of the Four Noble Truths that were observed by Gotama Buddha in his investigation of existence. If you are unfamiliar with them, I will briefly gloss over them here. The First Noble Truth is that there is an underlying feeling or experience of emptiness and unsatisfactoriness called Dukkha. The Second Noble Truth is that there is an arising or cause of Dukkha through thirst and craving for sensual pleasures. The Third Noble Truth is that there is a full emancipation and liberation from Dukkha achievable through the attainment of Enlightenment, or Nirvana. The Fourth Noble Truth is that there is a path leading to the attainment of Nirvana. The path is referred to as the Noble Eightfold Path. It is composed of eight categories:

Right UNDERSTANDING
Right THOUGHT
Right SPEECH
Right ACTION
Right LIVELIHOOD
Right EFFORT
Right MINDFULNESS
Right CONCENTRATION

Right Speech, Action and Livelihood can be bundled as belonging to Ethical Conduct. Right Effort, Mindfulness and Concentration can be bundled as belonging to Mental Discipline. Right Understanding and Thought can be bundled into Right Wisdom. There is a hierarchy that exists here. The tranquility of mind required to practice Mental Discipline require the foundation of Ethical Conduct; one is naturally tranquil when one abstains from lies, backbiting, slander, rudeness, maliciousness, abusiveness, gossip and babble, stealing, killing, dishonesty, fraudulence, impropriety, cheating, intoxicating and sexual indulgence. Likewise, the condition for Wisdom requires the foundation of Mental Discipline. Right Effort is committing to meditation. It is making the time, having the willingness to put in many hours, to have the right motives, ie. not doing it because you seek psychic abilities or superpowers. It is like going to the gym, but for your mind; effort is required but it can have remarkable effects on your mental health.

THE HIDDEN FORTRESS

What is the Hidden Fortress. The Hidden fortress is a 1958 Japanese film directed by legendary director Akira Kurosawa. The story is set in feudal Japan and begins with the adventures of two greedy peasants, Tahei and Matashichi who stumble across a secret stash of gold while escaping from a war between rival clans. The victorious clan, led by a General Rokurota Makabe, capture the two peasants, and they become entangled in the escapade of relocating the clan's wealth, as well as a princess Yuki to a safe location. Makabe seeks the aid of the two peasants because he believes they will act as a decoy to distract a pursuing enemy. As they are entrusted with the care of the princess, Tahei and Mataschichi face various challenges, including battles with enemy soldiers, natural disasters, and internal disagreements. As the two peasants enter this adventure, it becomes apparent that the gold they are carrying and attempting to relocate is actually the treasure of the clan that was defeated by Makabe. Yuki, it is revealed, is the soul surviving member of the defeated clan's royal family. The climax of the film takes place at the hidden fortress where the treasure is hidden. At this location, Makabe and his allies attempt to fend off the enemy soldiers from the rival clan and retrieve the treasure. As a film, The Hidden Fortress was heralded for it innovating cinematography which employed the use of a hand-help camera to create a sense of motion and immediacy. Entrenched in the film is also a unique blend of humor and action. It is recognized as a classical piece of Japanese cinema and has subsequently influence many contemporary film makers, most notably George Lucas, who has wildly acknowledged its influence on the creation of the Star Wars saga. Characters such as the bumbling peasants Tahei and Mataschichi were said to greatly inspire the droids C-3PO and R2-D2, and the essence of Kurosawa's menacing Samurai villains is said to be captured in the character of Darth Vader.

THE PARALLELS

There are several similarities between Star Wars and The Hidden Fortress. One would relate to the quintessential space opening shot of Star Wars which features yellow scrolling text receding to a point in space. This has often been compared with the long shot of a vast landscape that features in The Hidden Fortress. As mentioned before, the two bumbling peasants Tahai and Matashichi are very similar to C-3PO and R2-D2 in Star Wars in that they provide comic relief and serve as the audience's viewpoint into the story. Another point concerns Princess Yuki. She is in many respects very similar to Princess Leia in that she is strong-willed, resourceful and is being ruthlessly pursued by the enemy. Comparisons can also be drawn between the villainous General in the Hidden Fortress, Rokurota Makabe and the character of Darth Vader in Star Wars, as both are imposing figures who work for an evil empire. and both have a personal connection to the heroes. The overall structure of both films has parallels as they feature the heroes embarking on a perilous journey to recover a valuable object whilst being pursued by the enemy. In both films the herpes encoumter various obstacles and allies who help them on their quest.

JEDI VS SAMURAI

Are Jedi essentially Samurai? This is a tricky one. There are both similarities and differences. In terms of similarities, both Jedi and Samurai are both characterized as skilled warriors who adhere to a strict code of conduct and are associated with a particular set of beliefs and values. That said, there are divergences between the two. Samurai were historically warriors in feudal Japan who were trained in various martial arts. They were often employed by feudal lords as retainers of soldiers. Samurai were expect to follow the strict code of Budhido were loyalty, courage honor and self-discipline were key tenets. Samurai were known for their skill with weapons such as swords, spears, and bows, and were respected for their martial prowess and dedication to their lord. Jedi, up to now, have belonged to the realms of fiction. They are fictional characters in the Star Wars universe who are members of an ancient order of Force-users who are dedicated to upholding peace and justice in the galaxy. They are trained in the ways of the Force, a mystical energy field that gives them superbatural abilities such as telekinesis and precognition. A code of conduct emphasizing selflessness, courage and wisdom also determines their behavior.

AKIRA KUROSAWA

Akira Kurosawa (1910-1998) was a renowned, legendary Japanese filmmaker and screenwriter. He is widely and rightly regarded as one of the greatest filmmakers in the history of cinema. He directed 30 films over a career that spanned 50 years, and is best known for his samurai films, which include such classics as The Hidden Fortress (1958), Seven Samurai (1954), Yojimbo (1961), and Sanjuro (1962). Kurosawa's films are characterized by their visual and storytelling innovations, including the use of multiple cameras and long lenses, nonlinear storytelling, and a focus on character development and psychological complexity. His films often explore universal themes such as honor, loyalty, and sacrifice, and are known for their humanistic approach to storytelling. Kurosawa's work had a major impact on the development of world cinema, particularly on the New Hollywood movement of the 1960s and 1970s. His influence can be seen in the films of such directors as Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, and George Lucas, who has acknowledged the influence of Kurosawa's samurai films on the creation of Star Wars.

CONCLUSION

(this is the last thread in this post)

A Jedi Knight is an officer of the Jedi Order. Traditionally they are regarded as Force sensitive individuals who use their abilities to maintain peace and justice in the galaxy. Addition to this, they are typically portrayed as highly skilled and disciplined warriors who are proficient in the use of lightsabers, other weapons and various Force techniques such as telekinesis, mind tricks and sensing danger. However, what defines a true Jedi knight? It has been the aim of this book to explore and invite discussion on this idea, and expand upon the notion that a real Jedi wields a lightsaber of knowledge to defeat the troopers and forces of ignorance. A real Jedi is a warrior in the situational dynamics of intellectual warfare. A real Jedi also uses the eloquence of their speech and conduct as methods of controlling the minds of others. The real weapon of a Jedi is not a lightsaber, but they're attuning with the Force. A real Jedi uses the Force to move and manipulate concepts. A real Jedi of the Digital Information Age feels the Force of concepts and ideas flow through them. A real Jedi senses the danger of letting the mind wander. A real Jedi senses the danger of certain intellectual concepts. A real Jedi meditates. A real Jedi retrains themselves mentally to refute conditionings. A real Jedi is a peacekeeper and diplomat within the domains of Samsara. A real Jedi is a Philosopher. A real Jedi values Wisdom above all else. A real Jedi forms the Guardian class in the Republic envisaged by Plato.

Standing with the fury that they had in '66
[04]
And like E-Double, I'm mad
Still knee-deep in the system's ****
Hoover, he was a body remover
I'll give you a dose
But it will never come close
To the rage built up inside of me
Fist in the air, in the land of hypocricy

RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE: WAKE UP

I have no idea WTF you are on, or if you are even sane. Dafuq am I reading that gubbins. The fact it has links buried in it left right and centre means I'm tempted to delete it.

What I've gleaned from all of this, is that is that you have completely undone all if the phenomenal ground work by posting the vastly inferior RATM cover version of Microphone Fiend. A massive mistake, my friend. Anyone who knows anything about music would know that there is only one version of that song worth sharing- the original by Eric B and Rakim Tempted to ban you for this appalling oversite...
